Belly dance is a unique and fun way to spice up your special event! Whether it's birthday parties, wedding receptions, baby showers, etc, Amira Bellydance guarantees quality entertainment that's safe for the whole family to enjoy. Services span through out the Gulf Coast. Amira and her dance partner, Aurora, are skilled in props such as veil, sword, palm torches, cane, and zills to ensure an interesting and dynamic performance that is sure to make your event shine above the rest!
Talking with Amira after one of her gigs, she told me that bellydancing began as a way of expressing joy; it is easy to see that for her and her partner Aurora that is definitely the case. Working in the performance industry, I often meet 'bellydancers' who are really just college girls who think they look good shaking their butt in a costume. These two are the real deal, artists interested in expressing joy through their moves and not afraid to loosen up and have some fun with what they are doing. The result is not just a dance recital, it's an eloquent expression of the party itself.
Unlike a lot of troupes, both dancers have distinctly different styles when they perform solos, but they mesh really well together, too. So, it's almost like having 3 shows in 1 with them.
On top of that, they engage the crowd and have a new routine every time. Awesome performances.
Both dancers are very easy to work with and professional. They arrived not only on time, but early. Their performances were very entertaining and the kids loved them.

Amira is a 2nd generation bellydancer in the AL-MS-LA Gulf Coast area and travels. Though her mother, Ayşe, was a prominent bellydancer/teacher in Arizona during the 70's, Amira's first foray in the dance world was in ballet. Amira danced with Delta Festival Ballet and Biloxi City Ballet during her early teens. Belly dance came easily to Amira due to her love of Middle Eastern music instilled in her by her Lebanese heritage. Upon attending university at Mississippi State, she began belly dancing with the Mississippi Gypsies, then Raqs Magnolia, and now she can be seen dancing with the talented Aurora.
