I provide a broad palette of sounds from Latin America, Spain, the popular realm and beyond. My repertoire includes classical and flamenco guitar favorites, bossa novas, boleros, famous movie themes, jazz standards and various arrangements of current and older pop songs that leave guests dazzled and pleased-- and I can also perform with a flamenco dancer to add an extra layer of excitement to your event!

My training in a diverse group of styles including classical, Latin, flamenco, jazz and rock have left me uniquely qualified as a performer. It has allowed me to share the stage with a diverse group of notable musicians and international pop stars such as Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Little Anthony and the Imperials and Grammy winners Luis Fonsi and Nestor Torres as well as national tours with the Emmy Award winning guitarist Benise. I have also performed at many high profile weddings, award ceremonies, dinners and private parties for such political luminaries as former US Presidents, Senators, and Supreme Court Justices and A-list celebrities.

Amilcar Cruz is a guitarist, composer and educator who has been working as a full time musician and guitar instructor since graduating with a B.A. from The University of Maryland in 2000 where he studied jazz, music theory and composition. He has performed alongside such stars of the Latin music scene as the Emmy Award winning Benise, Jerry Rivera, Luis Enrique, Grammy winner Nestor Torres, and David Pavon along with his own award winning group Trio Caliente. Playing guitar since his early teens, he began by playing rock and was later inspired by flamenco guitar greats Sabicas and Paco de Lucia. Amilcar turned to serious flamenco study at age 17 with Paco de Malaga in Washington, DC and later, in Spain, with Gerardo Nunez. He combines the fluidity of acoustic rock with flamenco technique amidst a wide array of Latin influences.
