American Blackout

American Blackout is a high energy punk band. Expect to have a good time listening to catchy lyrics, and great music!

American Blackout was founded in 2012 by guitarist Damian Schoenecke and longtime friend bassist Ross Dougherty, both seeking to expand the lineup of their collaborative project. Countless auditions yielded the addition of drummer Stace Adams (The Piggies) and the group began experimenting with a metal groove sound. The addition of a stable vocalist proved difficult at first, and the group experimented with several front men until singer/guitarist Craig Miller (Bog Spavin, Uncertain) joined the project in the fall of 2012. Craig’s punk and post-hardcore influence immediately began to shape songwriting in a way that blended high-energy music with raw, formidable guitar hooks and melodic vocals. After trying in vain to blend the collision of initial and newly developing musical styles, Stace left the band on good terms due to creative differences. The group answered a Craigslist ad posted by Jay LaBella (Wireframe) who sought to create a punk-minded project after years in the progressive rock scene. After being given the music for what would become “Alone With Me,” Jay returned a week later to audition for the project…a night which immediately confirmed him as the band’s drummer and yielded the band’s first complete track, “Save Me.” Breathing life into the group, the band incorporated fast, intricate rhythms, edgy vocals and layered guitar and bass riffs into their musical style and became what is known to this day as… American Blackout.
