Thank you so much! I did not realize until we were leaving but my brother and sister both graduated from the school for which you were fundraising! It was an absolute pleasure. Feel free to send us any pictures or video from the event, we would really love to have them.

An explosion of color and sound in motion! Samba is the embodiment of joy, creativity, and triumph through life's trials - we strive to share this with every audience we meet.
Amara Arts Project was created in 2018 by Charis Railey as a casual group of friends to provide samba entertainment to the Saint Louis area. It has since grown into a performance, training, and education company presenting many Afro-Diasporic arts to communities in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Director Charis Railey, MFA has performed salsa, hip hop, modern, Dunham Technique, and (of course) samba in various productions for the past eight years in the Saint Louis area. The company creates shows which both entertain and teach audiences about the many beautiful cultures of the African Diaspora.
Let us know what speaker and dance floor options are available! We are adaptable, but we do have some needs (such as dressing rooms of you want the carnaval costumes) so we will need to communicate a bit to arrange everything!
We look to Viver Brasil ((link hidden)) as a philosophical model. We love their authenticity and dedication to sharing the strength and beauty of Afro-Brazilian culture with their community.
We are inspired by the gorgeous samba goddesses of Brazilian Fantasy ((link hidden)) and their unwavering commitment to displaying Rio-style samba respectfully and with poise and grace.
Both companies are comprised of beautiful dancers who are musicians, scholars, and historians. They are all dedicated to spreading understanding and respect for their art.
