What to expect
When you book AM Entertainment, you're not just hiring musicians to show up and play a setlist. You're getting an interactive entertainment experience that is built around your event, your guests and the kind of night you want to create.
Before the event, we'll work with you to understand the venue, schedule, audience and entertainment goals, and you'll plan with one of the entertainers who will be at your event. We'll help determine the right format and lineup, answer questions about setup and production, and make sure we have what we need to make the performance run smoothly. Our goal is to make the entertainment one less thing you have to worry about.
On event day, our team arrives with the equipment needed for the agreed-upon performance. We handle our own sound and production requirements or work with venue staff to use what's already in place, and we can communicate with the venue to get everything set up properly. We don't need a stage, although we'll happily use one if the venue already has one and it makes sense for the event.
Once the show begins, we put your guests in charge of the playlist and make a party out of whatever they feel like hearing. Dueling Pianos is not a concert where the audience sits quietly while a predetermined setlist plays from beginning to end. Your guests can request songs, sing along, interact with the performers and become part of the show. We read the room throughout the performance and adjust accordingly.
That might mean spending more time on a particular style of music because your crowd is loving it, changing direction when an unexpected request gets the whole room excited, bringing a willing guest up to participate, or turning a simple song into a room-wide sing-along. The best moments are often the ones nobody planned in advance.
Our performers are prepared to cover a wide range of music, but they also have their own specialties. When appropriate, we'll use that to our advantage when selecting the performers for your event. If you know your guests have a particular musical interest, demographic or favorite style, tell us. That information can help us build an even better lineup.
The format can also be tailored to the event. A solo singing pianist may be perfect for a cocktail hour, dinner or smaller gathering. Two performers can create the full Dueling Pianos experience, while additional musicians or different entertainment formats can be considered when the event calls for something bigger or different.
We're also accustomed to working within real-world event schedules. Your entertainment may need to fit around dinner, speeches, awards, dancing, venue restrictions or other parts of the evening. We'll coordinate with you and the venue so the entertainment fits into the event rather than making the event fit around us. We can also help with hosting and sound support for other parts of your event.
And while the show itself is the centerpiece, we're happy to help create a complete musical experience when you need it. Depending on the event, we can provide music for cocktail hour or dinner, continue into dancing after the piano show, or combine different entertainment formats throughout the evening.
Most importantly, expect the show to feel different from a typical live band or background musician. The music is only part of what we're providing. The interaction, requests, humor, participation and unpredictability are what turn the performance into an experience your guests remember.
Every event is different, but our goal is always the same: show up prepared, sound great, make your guests feel included and give everyone a reason to have a really good time.
About
AM Entertainment creates interactive live entertainment designed to bring people together. Our signature Dueling Pianos shows combine live music, singing, humor, song requests and audience participation into an experience where your guests aren't just watching the entertainment—they're part of it.
Dueling Pianos may be most familiar from the piano bars and entertainment districts of larger cities, but you don't have to travel to one to experience that kind of show. AM Entertainment brings the performers, pianos, sound and production directly to your event. We perform throughout Virginia, the Mid-Atlantic and beyond, adapting the show to the venue, audience and occasion.
The heart of the show is the audience. Our performers take requests, interact with guests and adjust the music and energy to the room as the night unfolds. One moment might be a group singing a favorite classic together; the next might be an unexpected song request, a mashup, a sing-along, or a guest joining us at the piano. Because the show is built around your guests rather than a fixed setlist, no two performances are exactly alike.
Our performers are experienced musicians who know how to read a room. We can tailor the lineup and format to fit the event, from an intimate solo singing pianist to a full Dueling Pianos production. We also offer KaraoKEYS Live Band Karaoke and other live entertainment options for events looking for something different.
We regularly perform for weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, private parties, festivals and other celebrations. Whether the goal is to give guests something memorable to talk about, get a room full of people singing together, or simply create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable joining the fun, our approach is the same: great musicianship, professional production and an experience built around the people in the room.
AM Entertainment is based in Virginia and built to serve events throughout the region and beyond. Our performers live throughout our service area, and we use the details of each event to determine the right combination of talent, format and production. That lets us provide a professional, all-inclusive entertainment experience while still tailoring the show to the event rather than forcing every client into the same package.
If you're looking for entertainment that gets people out of their seats, singing along and talking to each other instead of simply watching a performance, get in touch to start planning the fun.
Additional booking notes
AM Entertainment provides the equipment and production needed for our performances, or can integrate into existing venue production equipment. Our standard Dueling Pianos setup includes professional piano shells, high-quality keyboards, professional sound equipment and the other production equipment necessary for the show. We are a self-contained entertainment company, so venues generally do not need to provide sound equipment, instruments or a technician unless you want us to integrate into a system that is already there.
Our standard setup requires access to a normal electrical outlet within a reasonable distance of the performance area. We handle the setup and operation of our own equipment.
𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
The amount of space required depends on the size and format of the show.
Dueling Pianos: Approximately 10' × 6'
Dueling Pianos with a Drummer: Approximately 15' x 8'
KaraoKEYS: Piano and karaoke singers 10' x 6'; add 6' for each additional instrument.
Elton John Tribute: 8' x 6'
These measurements represent ideal minimum working areas rather than rigid requirements. We can often modify the arrangement to accommodate smaller or unusually shaped spaces. If you're unsure whether your venue can accommodate the show, we're happy to look at the room dimensions, floor plan or photos and determine what is possible.
𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
A stage is not required. Our equipment is designed to be set up directly on the venue floor, and we generally prefer to be close to the audience rather than separated from them by a large stage.
If your venue already has a stage, we can use it when appropriate. We do not recommend renting or constructing a stage solely for our performance.
Because audience interaction is such an important part of Dueling Pianos, room placement matters. In most venues, we prefer to be centered along the largest wall with tables and chairs arranged as close to the performance area as comfortably possible. In very large rooms, we can sometimes position the performance area more centrally and play to guests on multiple sides.
𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗱-𝗜𝗻 & 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀
Our equipment is transported to the performance area using rolling carts and requires a reasonably accessible path from the unloading location to the setup area.
Please let us know in advance if there are stairs, steep hills, long distances, unpaved surfaces, narrow doorways, elevators, multiple levels or other obstacles between where we can park to unload and where the performance will take place. These conditions don't necessarily prevent us from performing, but they can affect the amount of time and assistance needed for load-in.
Unless other arrangements are made in advance, our standard load-in is handled by one person using carts of approximately standard grocery-cart size and maneuverability.
We can also communicate directly with the venue when that is easier for the client.
𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽 & 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸
We generally plan to arrive with enough time to unload, assemble the equipment, complete our setup and perform a sound check before guests arrive. The amount of time needed depends on the size and format of the show as well as the accessibility of the venue.
We try to keep our setup professional and unobtrusive. When an existing stage or performance area is being used, we'll take the time to arrange the equipment so the finished setup looks appropriate for the event rather than simply placing everything wherever it fits.
𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 & 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
We bring our own professional sound system for the performance. Our system is sized appropriately for the show and venue, and we manage the sound during the performance.
If your event or venue has a house sound system, production company or venue AV team, we can coordinate with them when appropriate to integrate into that equipment. Please let us know about any venue-specific AV requirements or restrictions before the event.
When arranged in advance, our sound system can also accommodate certain additional event needs, such as microphones for announcements, speeches or toasts and background music before or after the performance.
𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 & 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄
The entertainment doesn't necessarily have to begin or end when the piano show does. Depending on the event and package, we can provide music during portions of the evening such as cocktail hour or dinner and may be able to continue with dancing or other entertainment after the piano show.
If you're looking for a complete musical solution rather than a single performance, let us know what you have planned for the entire event. We can often combine entertainment formats to create a more seamless experience.
𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Every venue is different, and we are accustomed to working in everything from private homes and small event spaces to hotels, country clubs, breweries, outdoor events and large corporate or convention venues.
Outdoor performances are possible, but they require additional consideration for weather, power, ground conditions, protection of equipment and the overall environment. We will discuss the requirements for an outdoor performance when applicable.
The best technical setup is ultimately the one that fits the venue while keeping the performers close enough to the audience to make the show interactive. If you have questions about a particular room, send us the details. We can help determine the most practical setup before you book.

Set list
There isn't a single AM Entertainment set list — and that's intentional.
Our Dueling Pianos shows are built around 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, so the music changes from event to event. Our performers collectively know thousands of songs spanning multiple generations, genres and decades, and the specific repertoire available for your event depends on which performers are booked.
Rather than playing the same show at every event, we use your guests to help determine where the night goes.
You might hear a classic rock sing-along followed by a 90s pop favorite, a country song, a wedding classic, a guilty pleasure from the 2000s, a piano-driven anthem or something completely unexpected because someone in the audience made a great request.
𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝘄 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆
Our repertoire covers a wide range of music, including:
𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸 & 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸:
Billy Joel, Elton John, Queen, Journey, The Beatles, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith and many more.
𝟴𝟬𝘀:
Journey, Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Toto, Whitney Houston, Billy Joel and other favorites from the decade.
𝟵𝟬𝘀:
The Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, Alanis Morissette, Matchbox Twenty, Third Eye Blind, Oasis, Nirvana, No Doubt, Goo Goo Dolls, Blink-182 and more.
𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬𝘀 & 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟬𝘀:
Bruno Mars, Adele, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, The Killers, Coldplay, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé and many others.
𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆:
Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Zac Brown Band and more.
𝗣𝗼𝗽:
Taylor Swift, Adele, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and more.
𝗥&𝗕, 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹 & 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻:
Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Earth, Wind & Fire and many others.
𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 & 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀:
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Neil Diamond, Elton John, Billy Joel and countless songs that have become part of the American party and sing-along tradition.
And that's only a small sample.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀
Requests are one of the defining features of our show. Guests can request songs throughout the performance, and our performers use those requests to help shape the night.
Some requests become full-room sing-alongs. Some turn into comedy moments. Some lead us in a completely unexpected musical direction. And occasionally someone asks for a song that sends us down a musical rabbit hole we never could have planned.
That's part of what makes Dueling Pianos different from a traditional band with a fixed set list.
𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁-𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴?
Tell us.
If there are songs that are especially meaningful to you, songs you'd like played for a particular moment, or music you know your guests will go crazy for, we want to know about them during the planning process.
We can use that information when determining the best performers for your event and preparing for the show.
We can also take requests for special moments such as wedding entrances, first dances, anniversary songs, corporate celebrations, dedications, birthdays and other events where a particular song matters.
𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀
When we know what your audience loves, we can use that information to help determine the best combination of performers for your event. If your crowd is especially into country, classic rock, 80s music, Broadway, current pop or another particular style, let us know.
While all of our entertainers know too many songs to put on a song list, we love being able to put together the perfect team for what the guests love. The goal is to put the right musicians in the room so your guests hear a huge variety of music performed by people who genuinely know and enjoy it.
𝗡𝗼 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁
Because the audience helps shape the performance, there is no master AM Entertainment set list that we simply repeat from event to event.
The same performers could play two different events and produce two completely different nights depending on the guests, requests, occasion and energy in the room.
That's exactly how we like it.
If you have a particular song, artist, genre or musical style that is important to your event, tell us when you inquire. We'll let you know what we can accommodate and use that information to help create the best possible lineup for your event.
