Alice Rose Statham, Harpist

You will get at least an hour of solo harp performance, to provide as little as ambience, and as much as a virtuoso solo performance. You can choose as much or as little music as you would like, so if you have anything specific in mind, I will find or compose harp arrangements to perform for you. I can easily adjust myself to perform with other musicians as well.
I arrive 45 minutes to an hour prior to the beginning of my performance, giving me ample time to tune and warm up my hands and the instrument. I have two harps: one is a 50 year old concert grand harp, style 23 from Lyon & Healy. The other is a 105 year old semi-grand, gold style 22 from Lyon & Healy. Both harps have deep, warm, rich sounds which have been shaped through many years of performance.
I love fashion, so I have curated performance outfits in every color of the rainbow, as well as jewelry to match. I generally wear floor length gowns, unless asked otherwise.

Alice Rose has studied and performed on the harp for 20 years; She began lessons at the age of 5, studying with Curtis alum Anne Sullivan, continuing to receive both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Harp Performance from Carnegie Mellon University, studying with Pittsburgh Symphony harpist and Juilliard alum Gretchen Van Hoesen.
Upon graduation in 2024, Alice began performing as a virtuoso at Nemacolin Resort, owned by 84 Lumber heiress Maggie Hardy, every weekend in the Chateau lobby after appearing in their unveiling commercial, as well as performing for private events for the owners and guests of Nemacolin. Alice has expansive experience in performing as a soloist for luxury events and recitals since graduating, but also in both large and small ensembles such as the Pittsburgh Symphony and touring orchestras for bands such as the Who, The Beach Boys, and Weird Al Yankovic. During her studies at CMU, she got the chance to perform extensive contemporary material, including both solo and ensemble pieces composed by R Murray Schafer, Takemitsu, Caroline Lizotte, etc. as well as student composers’ pieces. In her last year before graduating, Alice Rose and Devin LaMarr won in the Pittsburgh Concert Society major auditions, and thus perform together frequently as well.
Alice also teaches lessons online as well as in person, offering focus on a wide range of skills including music theory, harmony, counterpoint, solfege, and eurythmics.

No additional requirements, unless asked for by the client. I bring my own instrument, as well as a small bench and music stand. The harp can be set up anywhere as long as the floor is flat and stable.
