Alex Maluchnik is a Columbus based stand-up comedian and writer known for sharp storytelling and quick crowd work. Originally from suburban Nashville, his path from college dropout to car salesman to comedian fuels his relatable, offbeat material.
He has performed alongside Robert Kelly, Myq Kaplan, Jack Shaw, Ric Diez, and Donnell Rawlings, is a regular at The Attic Comedy Club, and has appeared in multiple cities with Don’t Tell Comedy, as well having performed at the world famous Laugh Factory and the Comedy Bar in Chicago. Alex delivers a polished, high energy set that quickly connects with any crowd. When not doing stand up he enjoys spending his time playing terrible golf.

March 18, 2026Hosting Don't Tell Comedy at our ice cream café has introduced us to some great talent, but Alex genuinely raised the bar. His material was high-caliber. He performed tight, clever bits that landed consistently, and he brought a level of stage presence that kept the whole room locked in from start to finish. What truly distinguished him was his ability to step beyond the script in certain well-timed moments. His audience engagement and improv moments felt effortless and authentic, a rare quality that transformed a great set into a memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed having him, and our sold out house clearly did too. We even saw an uptick in customer traffic after posting his improv bits joking about our ice cream flavors on our social media, so he provided some marketing too!

March 18, 2026I had an opener that was unable to perform on Tuesday Feb 24th and Alex came highly recommended. When I reached out to Alex, he was able to fill the slot with limited notice and I was NOT prepared for how good that show was going to be. Alex, brought the energy that was a perfect way to start out our night. Highly recommend booking Alex for your comedy events. Speaking of which (*checks rates), we need to get him on the books back in Hilliard at Phygital Nights before he outgrows us. ;-) THANKS AGAIN and look forward to booking you again!

For a typical 90 minute show I have 1-2 comedians that I pay to come with. Typically arrive an hour before show time unless more time is needed at client’s request.
If I bring the equipment (extra fee) I would need access to the performance space to test audio and microphone. (Without the audience members preferably as it distracts from the show experience.)
After the show is over I typically am packed up and can be ready to leave in about 20 minutes if I bring the equipment. However, I’m always down to hang out for a little after!
Alex Maluchnik is a standup comedian and writer based in Columbus OH. After growing up in suburban Nashville, he failed out of college. Turning car salesman after not getting selected in the 2015 NBA draft (he’s never played organized basketball) Alex left his career as a sleazy car salesman to be an even sleazier entertainer. So far in his short career, he has performed alongside multiple comedians he has looked up to such as Robert Kelly, Jack Shaw, Myq Kaplan, Ric Diez, and Donnell Rawlings. He is a regular at The Attic Comedy Club and has performed in Don’t Tell Comedy productions across multiple cities. In his free time he plays golf in the style of John Daly, using beer cans as tees and blasting music.
