About
Angel Ann Julian is an Indigenous Black and Mi’kmaw singer-songwriter from Pictou Landing First Nation, located on the east coast of northern Nova Scotia also known as the unceded territory of Mi’kma’ki.
“My favorite part of the song process is being in the studio and recording my voice over a hot beat. ”
My show and music is hip hop, r&b, rap and caters to women. I write songs about love that hurts, men who lie, women who overcome, and living a free life all wrapped up in funky hip hop beats as well as dark pop, pop, and r&b tunes.
January 2025 Angel released her second album “I been through it” along with an animated music video for “Saint Ninian” a song about Angel's Adventures in undergrad at STFX University.
Angel was nominated in 2023 and 2024 for Music Nova Scotia Indigenous Artist of the Year award.
She was a participant in the 2024 Mi'kmaq Artist Emergence Program put on by Carol Ann Potter and Bear River First Nation.
Angel has written over 30 songs to date.
