Aftershock is a high-energy six-piece rock band formed in 2022 and based in the greater Denver area. In just a few short years, the band has performed over 80 shows at major festivals, large venues, private events, and music halls across the region—earning a devoted following of more than 1,100 fans. Known for their powerful live performances and authentic sound, Aftershock has built a reputation as one of Colorado’s most exciting rock acts, with fans who regularly travel from venue to venue just to catch the next show.

Fronting the band is Ivan Marchena, a charismatic vocalist whose commanding voice and showmanship light up every stage. With a career spanning nearly three decades and performances across the U.S. and abroad, Ivan brings both technical mastery and heartfelt passion to every song—effortlessly bridging eras from classic rock to modern hits.

On lead guitar, Frank Kolonics Jr. delivers the tone, feel, and experience that can only come from over fifty years in the rock scene. A touring veteran from Denver’s 1970s/1980s circuit with the band Kyte, Frank’s blend of technical precision and emotion gives Aftershock its signature edge.

Scott Cole, the band’s rhythm guitarist, provides the steady groove and infectious stage energy that drive Aftershock’s live sound. A longtime figure in the Denver music community, Scott’s tight riffs, harmonies, and iconic talk-box moments have become crowd favorites.

Holding down the low end is Paul “Wog” McCloskey, a founding member whose unmistakable swagger and driving bass tone define the band’s heartbeat. A former member of the ’90s band XTACY and co-writer of Aftershock’s original track “Do It Again,” Wog brings power, presence, and personality to every performance.

Behind the drums, Chris Alfano is the engine that keeps Aftershock firing on all cylinders. A Colorado native and classically trained musician, Chris is known for his precision, energy, and showmanship—traits honed through years of live performance, studio work, and even a career highlight performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Completing the lineup is Darren Davis, Aftershock’s founder, keyboardist, and creative architect. Combining classical roots with cutting-edge synth work, Darren reproduces the signature sounds of Journey, Van Halen, and Bon Jovi while also managing the band’s production, visuals, and business operations.

Together, these six musicians form a powerhouse of talent, chemistry, and professionalism. Whether it’s a packed festival stage, a private party, or a local venue, Aftershock delivers a concert-quality show that celebrates the best of classic and modern rock—keeping audiences dancing, singing, and coming back for more.

Aftershock requires a reliable power source and a stage area large enough to comfortably accommodate a six-piece band. Our setup includes a full drum kit, a professional keyboard rig, and four guitarist/vocalists positioned across the front line. For the best audience experience, we also need room in the front corners for PA speakers and lighting equipment when providing production for the event. A flat, stable stage or performance area with easy access to power outlets ensures a quick, safe setup and the professional show your guests deserve.
