About
Arvin Galang is a Vancouver-based bassist known for his versatility, strong musicianship, and ability to adapt across a wide range of musical styles. Equally at home in the studio and on stage, he has performed professionally in Canada and the Philippines, working with artists and ensembles spanning pop, R&B, jazz, funk, and contemporary music.
His career includes performing with **Post Modern Connection** in Vancouver and appearing with the **Philippine Youth Symphonic Jazz Big Band**, where he developed a strong foundation in large ensemble performance and sight-reading. He also contributed to the Awit Award-winning project **Basically Saturday Night**, adding to a body of work recognized by one of the Philippines' most prestigious music awards.
Known for his professionalism, reliability, and friendly approach, Arvin is an experienced session bassist who is comfortable learning music quickly, sight-reading charts, and delivering polished performances in both live and recording environments. Whether supporting an artist, playing with a band, or tracking bass in the studio, he brings musicality, preparation, and a collaborative mindset to every project.
Additional booking notes
Technical requirements are minimal. I require a reliable bass backline, preferably a bass amplifier or amp head and cabinet appropriate for the venue size. A wedge monitor is preferred for stage monitoring, along with a standard DI connection to the front-of-house mixing console. If a backline is unavailable, I can coordinate equipment requirements with the organizer in advance to ensure a smooth performance.
