Adam Stone Magic
Overview
I read minds for a living. Over 1,000 events since 2019 for Capital One, McKinsey, Lockheed Martin, GE, LVMH, and Caesars Entertainment, and I have never once canceled or rescheduled an event.
Strolling mentalism for cocktail hours and receptions, where I work the room in small groups. Interactive stage and parlor shows for 20 to 2000 guests. Hypnosis when you want your people to be the entertainment. Trade show entertainment that stops traffic and gets prospects talking to your team.
I was an award winning special education teacher first. That is where I learned to read a room and pull people in without putting them on the spot.

November 29, 2020Wonderful Show!
From the initial phone call through the post-performance wrap-up, it was a pleasure working with Adam. He made the entire process easy and stress-free—especially helpful in planning an online birthday party for a seventh-grader!
The show itself was amazing: engaging, entertaining, and interactive; everyone from the nine-year-old cousin to the grandparents enjoyed it! The magic tricks, his personality and sense of humor, and the (virtual) interaction with the guests all added up to a most memorable evening.

April 7, 2019The magic that life long memories are made of...
Adam Stone brought magical memories into our home today. My goal was to have a birthday bash for my 5 year old that would include some of the first and fondest memories that my son will ever have. Adam Stone fulfilled that goal. He was professional, reliable, responsive and organized with me. He was funny, playful, magical and connecting with my boy and all of his friends. Everyone in the house was hysterically laughing. Several parents came up to me after the party to comment on how much they loved the magician. I would strongly recommend Adam Stone for your next event. Thank You, Adam Stone!

February 6, 2019Perfect for Corporate Gala!
My company put on an end of the year Gala for our employees, and we decided to have a magician come by to perform strolling magic to keep things interesting. Adam did an awesome job keeping everyone entertained and doing tricks that would blow everyone's mind. That party was almost a week ago, and people are still wondering how he did what he did. Our employees range from ages 20-70, so there's something to be said about keeping everyone of all ages amazed. Not to mention Adam is super pleasant to work with! From Day 1, he was kind, understanding and very easy to work with. He's very personable and connects with people effortlessly. If I were to do another event (corporate or personal) I would call him, hands down. Thanks, Adam!

Price range: $1,200 - $10,000
Languages: English
Gig length: 30 - 480 minutes
Insurance: $10,000,000 - Liability Insurance
What to expect
Every event gets built from scratch. Before your date I ask about your group, what you are trying to accomplish, and anything I should know about the room. That conversation is where the show actually gets made.
STROLLING MENTALISM
I move through the room in small groups during cocktail hours, receptions, and dinners. Each group gets four or five minutes of something personal and impossible. Guests are not watching a performance, they are in it. Typically 60 to 150 minutes. No stage or sound needed, and I can work around a buffet, a band, or a room that is still filling up.
STAGE AND PARLOR SHOWS
A seated, fully interactive show for 20 to 2000 guests. Volunteers come up, predictions get opened, and by the end the room is talking to each other rather than at me. Typically 30 to 60 minutes. Works in ballrooms, theaters, private dining rooms, and conference breakouts.
HYPNOSIS
Your group becomes the entertainment. Best as an evening headliner with a stage, seating, and an audience that is staying put. Typically 60 minutes.
TRADE SHOWS AND BOOTH ACTIVATIONS
I work your booth to stop traffic, hold a crowd, and hand warm prospects to your team, with your message built into the routine.
Many events combine two of these. Strolling during the reception, then a show after dinner, is the most common request I get.
WHAT YOU GET REGARDLESS OF FORMAT
Clean, corporate-appropriate content. I ask in advance about anything sensitive in your group and I stay inside it.
I arrive early, bring my own sound and equipment, and need almost nothing from you.
$10 million liability insurance. Certificate available on request.
More than 1,000 events since 2019, and I have never canceled or rescheduled one.
About
I read minds for a living, which is a strange thing to say out loud after fifteen years in a classroom.
I spent those years as a special education teacher, and I was good at it. What that job actually taught me had very little to do with lesson plans. It taught me to read a room in about four seconds, to hold attention without raising my voice, and to bring in the person standing at the edge of the group without ever putting them on the spot. Those are the same three skills I use now. The props changed. The job did not.
Since 2019 I have performed more than 1,000 events across the United States, Canada, and Iceland. Capital One, McKinsey, Johns Hopkins, Lockheed Martin, General Atomics, GE, LVMH, and Caesars Entertainment have all trusted me with their people. I have never once canceled or rescheduled an event.
The work is mentalism. Mind reading, predictions, moments where someone thinks of something they never said out loud and I say it back to them. At a cocktail hour I move through the room in small groups so everyone gets something that belongs to them specifically. On stage I build the show around your audience, whether that is twenty people in a boardroom or two thousand in a theater. I also perform hypnosis when a group would rather become the entertainment themselves.
I hold a master's degree in orientation and mobility and have lectured at universities around the world, which is a long way of saying I have been standing in front of rooms for most of my adult life.
I live in Maryland with my wife Jenny and our two daughters. They are the joys of my life, and they tolerate the fact that I have no idea how to play correctly.
Additional booking notes
STROLLING MENTALISM
Nothing required. No stage, no sound, no power, no setup. I arrive dressed and ready and work the room as it is. I can work around a buffet line, a band, a bar, or a room that is still filling up.
STAGE AND PARLOR SHOWS
Sound: A wireless microphone [handheld / countryman headset] and the ability to run audio from my phone or laptop. For audiences under [100?] I bring my own PA and need one standard outlet. For larger rooms I prefer to run through house sound with an operator.
Lighting: I need to see the audience. This matters more for mentalism than for most acts, because the show depends on reading and interacting with real people. Please avoid a full blackout on the house. General wash on the stage area is plenty. No specials, gels, or programmed cues required.
Staging: A performance area roughly 12x12 with the audience seated in front rather than surrounding me. A riser is helpful for groups over [150?] but is not required. I bring my own table.
Power: One standard outlet within reach of the performance area.
HYPNOSIS
Everything above, plus 10 armless chairs set in a row or arc on the stage for volunteers. Volunteers need to be visible to the audience and seated comfortably for the length of the show. A staff member available to help with anyone leaving the stage is appreciated but not required.
TRADE SHOWS
Nothing required. I work standing in or beside your booth and need no power, sound, or table.
GENERAL
Setup: 45 minutes for stage shows. Strike is immediate.
I bring my own sound system, table, and all performance equipment.
$10 million liability insurance. Certificate of insurance available on request, and I can name your venue as additional insured.
I have performed with no microphone at all when a group required it, and outdoors, and in rooms with no stage. Tell me the constraint and I will work inside it.

Set list
There is no fixed set list, and that is the point.
Before your date I ask about your group. What the occasion is, who is in the room, what your people have been through this year, whether there is a running joke or a theme worth using. Then I choose the pieces that will land with those particular people and work your details into them.
A corporate show usually moves like this. Something impossible in the first ninety seconds, so the room understands what kind of night this is. A middle section built around volunteers, where the mind reading gets specific to people your guests actually know. Then a closing prediction that has been sitting in plain sight the entire time.
My work is clean. No off-color material, no humor at anyone's expense, and no volunteer ever leaves the stage embarrassed. If you are looking for something edgier, I am not the right fit.
Influences and inspiration
I came to magic sideways. One autumn afternoon I got home from work to find that my wife and two daughters had signed me up for the Mid Atlantic Youth Ballet's production of The Nutcracker. The whole family was dancing. I had been cast as Drosselmeyer, the magician uncle.
I had almost no experience dancing in a ballet and considerably less with magic. But I wanted to be a good father, so I said yes and went looking for someone who could teach me.
That search took me down the Yellow Brick Road, quite literally, to Rosedale, Maryland, and a shop called Denny and Lee Magic Studio. Denny Haney took me under his wing and we started working out the logistics of a Nutcracker performance. He is the reason I do any of this. Most of what I know about holding a room I learned standing around in the back of that shop.
Setup requirements
I will come equipped with everything I need to perform both indoors or out. Just let me know where you would like me to setup and I will take care of the rest.
