Overview
Miss Palasz is an accordionist, singer/actress and comedienne. Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, she has influences in old world music, and her musical tastes range from traditional folk, American and European standards, novelty songs and classical repertoire. Her versatility and personality makes her in demand as an accordionist entertainer. From soft background music at private parties, weddings and events, to exuberant playfulness at both adult and children's functions, she is able to tailor her repertoire to each client's specific requests. As a vocalist, she can sing anything from polka to opera! Terry has lived in Hell's Kitchen for 25 years.

I held a Paris-themed event and hired Terry to play at reception before the main part of my event as the guests were arriving. She came on time, played a perfectly fitting French repertoire and was a definite highlight of the event setting all attendees in the right mood. Definitely recommend hiring her and will consider hiring her in the future.

Terry played at our Moulin-Rouge-themed 50th, and she made the evening! Having her there when guests arrived set quite the mood.
And throughout the process, Terry was kind and considerate. She even learned specific songs from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. In fact, she sent me a video of her performing the Roxanne Tango, and it was so cool that (with her permission) I sent it to all who attended as a thank you.
I'd book Terry again, and recommend her wholeheartedly!

We engaged Terry for a special anniversary event at a local restaurant. The minute she walked in, the room lit up. Her delightful singing style and her accordion music (from 70's pop to Polish folk tunes) were the perfect entertainment, a wonderful end to a fantastic night (especially the moment when everyone was swaying and singing together - even my self-conscious 14-year-old nephew.) I would highly recommend Terry. She's a consummate pro.

What to expect
Accordion By Terry is a musical experience that can provide elegance and a flavor of any style of background music requested by the client. Or it can also be a heightened theatrical experience for a thematic party if requested. For example, if there is an honored guest, I can perform a requested song and also sing songs in several languages. I am more than pleased to work with clients to make the occasion as special as possible. Unless it's a large room, I will need no amplification. Otherwise we will need to work together for a sound system. Hey! Accordions are portable!!
About
Terry Palasz is an eclectic soprano comedienne, actress and versatile accordion musician. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she's performed everything from polka to opera and has been a proud Midwestern gal in New York City since 1998. She's originated roles for Disney Productions in TWICE CHARMED, and for Royal Caribbean in GREASE and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. While in her cruise ship contracts she also played accordion with a ten piece orchestra. Her one-woman show, THE POLISH DIVA FROM MILWAUKEE, has been performed nationally to sold-out houses, and her CD, "The Polish Diva's Polka Party", continues to be heard on polka radio stations.
As an accordionist, she's played multiple private functions at weddings, corporate events, Italian and French restaurants, was hired at "Accordions Around the World" at Bryant Park and was a featured performer at Birdland's "The Lineup with Susie Mosher". She's also been an actress-accordionist in the musicals "Once" and "Williamsburg the Musical".
Terry graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance at the Manhattan School of Music and is most fond of Eastern European folk music, European cabaret, American standards, novelty songs and classical repertoire. She sings in several languages and has been a professional entertainer for over 35 years. In her spare time she loves to mountain hike, explore NYC's five boroughs on her bike, and spread the joy of accordion in towns big and small.
