Overview
We are a professional rock n' soul band based in Port Townsend, WA.
Led by vocalist Laura Newman, who opened 6 times for Neil Young, Abracadabra has played Concerts on the Dock, Finnriver, the Palindrome & American Legion in Port Townsend as well as the Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles. We’ve toured to the Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Art Basel / the Moksha Arts (Miami), House of Yes (NYC), The Rivertown Revival (California) and performed hundreds of times in NYC.
We play original music and groovy jams as well as rock n' soul classics that get the crowd dancing!

What to expect
Our music is high energy, heart felt and groovy with original music and covers by the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Chaka Khan, Bob Marley and more. Lead vocalist Mama Earth is a powerhouse singer and MC who loves to get the audience on their feet dancing. Our musicians are all top talent from the Olympic Peninsula and we play a variety of songs from rock to funk, soul and disco. Abracadabra is also known for creating improvised jams based on audience suggestions which is real hit with audiences, especially for special occasions like Valentines or Weddings.

Abracadabra began as a rock n’ roll flash-mob on the roof of a school bus in NYC. Creating unforgettable spectacles of creativity and freedom, the band has played hundreds of shows at parks, venues and festivals across the US and Europe including: Field Arts & Events Hall, Finnriver, Port Townsend’s Concerts on the Dock, the Palindrome, The American Legion, Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Art Basel / the Moksha Arts (Miami), House of Yes (NYC), The Rivertown Revival (California).
Abracadabra means, “We create what we speak,” or “What we say happens!” Our performances inspire creative expression, peace, love and freedom in the world.
Additional booking notes
We have a sound system, kit and professional sound board we can bring. We are also able to record multi-track recordings and mix live songs in the studio if people want a recording.
