We just had a stellar panel discussion with Devin behind our sound board. He was great to work with and the event sounded amazing.
Sound system provided
It is an in-house sound system which will be set-up (more or less) prior to arrival. Sound check with the band will start at 3:30. It is a wedding with ceremony and reception in the same room. The ceremony starts at 6:00 and reception ends at 10:30. Do not expect the sound tech to have any breakdown responsibilities. We would like the sound tech to attend a brief walk through prior to the event.
At the moment, we do not expect to need any equipment from the sound tech.
I do not believe so.
Lars was incredibly easy to work with. We hired him to do the sound for our wedding. Weddings can be chaotic and Lars came and and handled the sound making it easy for us to focus on everything else. He did a great job and the band (an experienced group of talented musicians) also had high praise.
If think boom means a loud noise, a master is the ruler of a kingdom, that active crossover is move a basketball player makes, and that quadrophonic isn't a real word, then you obviously aren't a sound technician. It also means you definitely should not be running the sound board! Let one of these professionals take over the board and make sure your event's sound goes off flawlessly. With one of these guys in the sound room or behind the board you don't have to worry about squealing microphones or the bass volume overwhelming the singer.
