Dan Murphy is a retired NYPD Detective-Sergeant, 9-11 First Responder and Rescue Worker, former Joint Terrorism Task Force Squad Supervisor, recipient of the National Association of Police Organizations' TOP COP Award, Chief Security Officer for US Bancorp, and co-author of the book "Workplace Safety: Establishing an Effective Violence Prevention Program". He is a sought after speaker on subjects ranging from his 9-11 experiences, International Travel Safety and Security, Building an effective and sustainable violence prevention, response and recovery program, and the emerging technology of shooter/assailant suppression systems and how they will change forever how we deal with active shooters. Dan has been responsible for the safety and security of hundreds of thousands of people, in thousands of facilities worldwide and believes in empowering people through education and the correct use of technology. He has built successful workplace violence prevention programs for many organizations, large and small and continues to help with individual cases of threatening and disturbing behavior. Dan stresses the need for realistic, practical approaches to life safety.
