1blackfrend Bio
1blackfrend is the brainchild of Detroit native Randi Johnson who has been a songwriter since the mid-2000s. Though her music immediately commands attention by way of its sheer catchiness, her songs are deeply personal and often disguise somber themes. Johnson recently enlisted Grant Nielsen and Chris Poland to create a musical trio around her content They have recently begun performing together and have plans to begin releasing recorded content in early 2025.
1blackfrend Sonic Description
1blackfrend is a grunge-inspired alternative group whose songs become earworms that you'll find yourself humming for days.
1blackfrend consists of members from Jacksonville and Detroit, respectively - two cities that have been built up, torn down, lost, found, and gentrified to Hell and back. Though much could be said about the methods of preservation, it is this group's opinion that communities are not only worth preserving but celebrating.
