I'm called the "Human iPod" because I have 2 HUGE request books that I put out during my show. People pick songs they want to hear, write their requests on little post-it notes or text in their requests. In between songs I read off 3 or 4 requests and then based on which one the audience picks, I play the next song.
-
It really lets them get into the show and also makes sure I play the songs they want to hear! I have over 75 hours worth of music in my head so you could see 37 different 2-hour shows and never hear the same song twice! It's really fun and interactive and I'm always learning new and current songs!
-
If your event needs more of a background music style, I can do that, too!
John made our party so much fun! All our guests were raving about him. Very talented, very personable, very accommodating, very professional! Thank you!
Response from 1 John Rush - The Human iPod:
Hi Rosario,
Thank you for the great review and thank you very much for the added bonus! I really appreciate it! It was great to meet you and Jim and I'm really glad you enjoyed the party. I hope you have a great holiday!
John
John performed at a summer party we hosted. He was on time and worked efficiently to set up. Most importantly he is so talented and performed a great variety of music. I'm hoping to have him at our next event, I couldn't have hoped for a better musician!
John played for our Neighborhood Association Annual Picnic to a crowd of 102 people. The weather was not great at first, but John didn't let that stop him. He showed up on time, had everthing set up and started to play.
John tailored his performance to the crowd and listened to the requests.
His performance, voice and musicianship are amazing. He truly has a gift.
He helped us with announcements, shared stories about the songs he played and demonstrated how he can play over the sampling and create awesome sounds with only a guitar. It really was like having a whole band there.
John even took the time to talk at length to a young man who wanted a career in music after the show.
John played for 3 hours without taking a single break.
We couldn't be more happy with his performance.
I received all positive feedback from the crowd.
If he hasn't gone on to bigger venues next year, he certainly would be #1 on our list to ask again.
Thank you John for making our event a huge success.
Regards,
James Leaman
John was perfect for our party!! His music was great!! He arrived early, brought all his own sound and lighting, and was super easy to work with!!

You can expect a great performance!! It can either be an interactive show where you or your guests pick the songs to be played or more of a background style show where the music sets the mood for the event. I can play all live music or DJ music. This is great if you want live music at the beginning and then transition to DJ music if people want to dance more.

I bring all my own sound and lighting so there are no hidden costs. All I need is a place to plug in!!
I have all my own sound and lighting equipment so I can make any venue sound great!!
My set up takes one hour and my break down takes one hour.
I just need a flat space about 10 x 10 and a standard outlet.
