Yusef and the Jazz Disciples

About

Our group is composed of;

Yusef sharif, (alto and soprano saxs)(vocalist),

Frederick Green (acoustic and electric basses)(vocalist),

Madoka Oshima, accoustic and electric pianos, and

Omar Martinez, percussions and traps,(vocalist).

We are a group dedicated to preserving and enhancing the quuality of great music. Music that has been the creativity from the master of yesteryear and those compositions of the great artist of present date. Our repertoire consists of compositions from Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Cole Posrter, Benny Goodman, Jerome Kern, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Fank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Tony Bennett, and more.

Yusef has performed nationally and internationally (United States and Europe).

Has performed with and studied with Kenny Dorham, Bobby Cappers, Sonny Rollings, Cecile Bridgewater, Philly Joe Jones, Billy Mitdhell, Rollin Alexander, Joe McPhee and many more.

Has performed at the world renoun Waldorf Astoria, and Appollo Theather. And has been featured in many national and international magazines, talk, tv, and radio programs.

The group has performed for many state officials and fund raisers in numerous cities and states.

We have a dynamic stage presence, and magnetic energy during the course of our performance of which you and your party will enjoy.

Typical Gig Duration: 180 - 240 minutes

The audience will witness our sense of lyrical melodic tones centers, and warm overlays of sensual patterns that invites the listeners undivided attntion.
