About

Based out of The Mama Lillie Studios in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, The Nacho Mama Band is comprised of nine talented musicians dedicated to "Keeping Real Music Alive". We love Baby Boomer Music, and it shows!!!

With a state of the art sound system and stage lights, Mama is happy to work closely with individuals and event planners to ensure that their guests and clients are more than happy with their event.

Influences

Since we are members of the Baby Boomer generation, our music relates. The band's musical influences are The Temptations, The Drifters, The Rolling Stones, Marvin Gaye, and Otis Redding just to name a few.

Since Beach Music and shagging are a big part of the music scene in the southeast, we have been influenced significantly by artists such as Willie Tee, Major Lance, Junior Walker and The Allstars, The Original Tams, The Swinging Medallions and others.

What to Expect

The Nacho Mama Band plays Oldies and Carolina Beach Music. Everything from 50s Doo Wop, to 60s Rock & Roll and Soul, to classic Carolina Beach Music. Catering to folks who love to dance, we play the music you grew up dancing to; and we stay true to the original song. There is no hokey, boring customizing of great songs. We play it as you remember it. We want you to enjoy dancing and singing along with us.

People of all generations love our music. Young people also enjoy our music; it's feel good music for everyone.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
Adequate and safe electrical supply = At least 4 - 120 volt receptacles on 3 separate circuits.
Stage Area = approx. 16' X 24'

Additional Notes:
The Nacho Mama Band has a state of the art sound system, with as much (or as little) power as needed for any venue, large or small. JBL main speakers provide crystal clear sound for our vocals, while JBL sub-woofers give our music that punch and low end that help you feel the music. Our highly qualified sound engineer, who is usually located about 50' from the stage, controls our sound to provide a perfect blend of music and vocals which ensures that our audience enjoys the band.
Our stage lighting is comprised of eight multi-colored LED lights, four on each side of the stage. These lights provide an exciting touch to our performance. While adding exciting color to the stage area, they are not intrusive or unpleasant.

It is always important to remember that The Nacho Mama Band requires a little more space than your average five piece band. We are most comfortable on a stage (or in an area) that is, at least, 16' X 24'. We, as do most bands, require an adequate electrical supply of several 120 volt outlets on, at least, three separate circuits, when possible.

Accesibility to the performace area is critical. We travel with a fairly large truck which is filled with equipment and instruments; it is important that we are able to offload and move equipment in a speedy and effective manner.

Set/Song/Sequence List:
Our set list is carefully composed to meet the needs and the type event chosen by our client. We typically consult with the client to determine those needs and special requests.
