About
The Creations are a solid top-rated vocal harmony quintet. They sang in the same shows along with The Spaniels, The Skyliners, The Harptones, The Earls, The Chantels, The Jive Five, The Dubs, and others. The first singing group to back-up Kid Kyle were the Creations. ( Kid Kyle With His Cool Kats ) The Creations performed in such noted venues as The Peppermint Lounge, The Beacon Theater,The Apollo Theater, The Paramont Theater,The 1964 Worlds Fair, The Meadowlands, and, Radio City Music Hall just to name a few. The Creations go back to 1959 -
Alex Trisano - 2nd Tenor/ lead- Original - founding member of The Creations in 1959. Alex was born in Manhattan and raised in The Bronx. He reformed The Creations in 1971, lasting 3 years, and then again in 1986, lasting with several personnel changes to the present. During his non-Creations years, Alex sang with various groups including The Heart Spinners and The Brotherhood.
Mario Rodriguez - Baritone/ 2nd/ lead - Mario started singing in the glee club of Herman Riders PS 98 Jr. High School in The Bronx. He became a member of The Creations when they reformed in 1986. Next came the group called Free Expression and then back to the Creations in 1997.
Ray Orta - 1st & 2nd Tenor/ lead - Ray was also born in Manhattan and raised in The Bronx. He started singing while attending Jr. High School 123. He was a member of The Vibes in high school. A group managed by Clay Cole. after The Vibes dissolved, he joined The Belairs. Ray has enjoyed time with various groups including The Eternals and The Eons. In 2002, he joined The Creations.
Bay Pesante - Bass/Baritone/Lead - Bay was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. Bay was 15 years old when he joined a popular local doo wop group, called The Chessmen. After singing with other groups Bay sang with Frankie Lemons Brother, Lewis Lymon. Bay is now singing with The Creations.
George Oquendo - Baritone/Bass/Lead and Pianist - George was born and raised in the Bronx. He took a liking to doo wop music at an early age and learned how to play keyboard while in school. After high school George enlisted in the United States Marines and stood for fourteen years. After the Marines, music was still in his heart. Today besides working full time, George is the musical director of The Creations.
Bobby "Baby" Walker - 1st & 2nd Tenor/Baritone/Lead - Bobby was born in Queens, NY and raised in Manhattan (Spanish Harlem). Where there was a rich vocal harmony culture and Bobby learned to sing that style. Bobby sang with the very popular oldies doo wop group The Del Vikings. Bobby is now singing with the legendary doo wop group from the Bronx, The Creations.
