We’re takin’ it back…to a time when the music scene was dominated by sincere, soulful performers. Formed in the summer of 2007, Swift Technique draws from influences across the world. Our genre is uniquely Philadelphia, and can best be described as a fusion of funk, hip-hop, soul, jazz, and rock. By combining old influences with young, raw energy, we are the collaboration of seven souls on a mission to flip the music scene upside down. No matter where we play, or who we play with, we have one goal in mind: to leave you wanting more.
About
While Swift Technique draws from all world influences, their genre is uniquely Philadelphia. Since 2007, the 6 piece Funk, Soul and Hip-Hop ensemble has relentlessly toured, performed and recorded throughout the US. With countless performances under their belt, Swift Technique has become a Funk-Rock force to be reckoned with.
Over the course of 2010, Swift Technique established themselves as one of the premiere live Funk & Soul bands on the East Coast, and in the United States. Beginning with a performance at Temple University's 10,000 seat arena, The Liacouras Center, the group began to make headlines with each subsequent performance. In October, the group was asked to perform at a student rally with President Bill Clinton. Local and national headlines featured a local band, Swift Technique, "challenging" the president to dust off the sax and jam with the band. Three weeks later, music legends Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff had a street named after them in Philadelphia. Swift Technique was there to perform at their celebration party. The group closed out 2010 and opened 2011 with a co-bill featuring Wu-Tang Clan at the 5,000 seat venue, the Sherman Theater. Entering only their fourth year, the future is looking very bright for Swift Technique.
