Author of the new book titled "Dying to make a film" which is due out in Late Jan 2013 is Sir Ray Mann who is a passionate speaker. Having started off at the age of seven doing his first play in New Jersey and landing his first film role in Miami at the age of fifteen in the movie titled "The Greatest" starring Muhammad Ali and appearing along side movie star Paul Newman in the movie "Absence of Malice" and also in the film "Hot Stuff" and starring in the college cult film "King Frat" and appearing in several made for tv movies and countless stage plays, Ray had a good sheltered life, with loving parents and a mother who kept her kids in church, but being sheltered and being related to some very famous people like Tabacco Baron R.J. Renolds, Boxing great Sugar Ray Robinson, Basketball player Shaq 'O' Neal and movie producer Tyler Perry did not give Ray the success he wanted as and actor. Thus,Ray ventured out of that sheltered life and got involved with a dangerous Columbian drug cartel with the sole goal of making some quick money to finance his film project that he always wanted to make. But the real life events he was about to face would be much more consuming then any movie project that he could ever think of. Ray was now trapped inside this ruthless world of drugs, greed, power and murder . Once inside things go wrong and Ray is fingered by the cartel as the brains behind the missing of millions of dollars in drug money and he now becomes the focus of the Columbian hit team who is dispense to eliminate him. Ray finally got away from the cartel and found a lovely wife in Los Angeles, but after thirteen years and three kids Ray and his wife seperate and for three years Ray gives up on life and became homeless on the streets of Los Angeles sleeping on the sidewalks in boxes, in alleys, behind buildings and in homeless shelters. Nothing he did worked out for him,. Life was a daily struggle for him. Eating at homeless shelters , church meals for the homeless and sometimes out of the garbage, Ray began to reach out to his God for hope and deliverance. God started speaking to Ray in dreams, and Ray met and angel in an alley early one morning who showed him were some money was hidden under a tree so that he could get something to eat. Even though Ray was at the bottom of his life yet day in and day out God provided for him the things he needed. God also showed Ray in a dream that if he held on and didn't give up and continued to believe in him no matter that he would bring him out of it, and bring him out of it God did, God kept his promise.
