Why hire Paul Michell Music?
I am a singer songwriter from St. Paul, MN. Besides writing my own original material and playing solo, I also back up local artists. I have shared the stage with Amber Anne Love, Lady Tobalyas, The Season, Advent Down and Criss Starr. I have played THE FINE LINE, The School II, The Depot, The Nicollet, Harry's Cafe, The Lounge, Corner Coffee, just to name a few.
In terms of cover songs, I can do ultimately any type of style. My own style is "folky/singer-songwriter", but I am more than capable of doing popular cover songs as well as old jazz standards. I have perfect pitch, am a classically trained pianist, and also a singer. I do music because i love to do music, which is most important!
About
BIO:
Paul Michell is a 22 year old singer/songwriter hailing from St. Paul, Minnesota. "I've always wanted to do this whole music thing, but there were many years of hard work and growth I had to work through in order to actually begin." It's taken him years to get on his feet and get his music out to the public, but it has been worth the wait.
Being a literate pianist having been classically trained since the age of 5, Paul is also gifted at improvisation which came in handy when he did some work professionally for a local musician back in 2008. "Yeah, it was cool. We did a bunch of gigs across the Midwest. I had to learn something like 80 jazz standards and that sort of thing! It was a good experience in some ways, but I didn't want to be stuck being an accompanist the rest of my life...something I took from that was when I was working with this musician, she had told me I was really skilled and had a lot of potential. We didn't always get along, in fact, it was kind of awkward sometimes, but ya know, we ended up having mutual respect for each others skills."
Paul is now working for Amber Anne Love playing keys. He is working on a full-length debut album this fall as well.
Throughout his time, Paul has shared the stage with Criss Starr,THE SEASON, ADVENT DOWN, Kate Raddatz, Amber Anne Love, Welcome Ave., among others.
What to Expect: A nice evening of singer/songwriter material from your favourite artists, as well as original material of my own, or vice versa. :)

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 60 - 120 minutes
They can expect a pretty mellow performance, one with passion and feeling. If you want me to croon jazz tunes, one can expect that. If one wants me to deliver pop or country or top 40 radio hits, I can do that as well. Mellow and laidback music. Music with a message. Musical integrity and musical meaning is what I am mostly all about!
