Why hire Nico?
I've been an active musician for fifteen + years. Throughout my career I've had extensive experience as a writing, touring, and recording percussionist.
I've covered any and all genera but I love me some rock/blues/metal.
I've toured and played with such acts as Flaw, Saliva, Seemless, ill Nino, Legion, Silent Civilian, Dope, Kittie, Straight Line Stitch, The Antagonist, Bobaflex, Trust Company, As Summer Dies, and Soil just to name a few.
About
My fellow musicians know me as Nico. I throw caution to the wind with no resistance or second guessing. I like to club with a tasteful finesse, while incorporating some visual work as well into my playing. I like to represent for where I live and where my major influences come, giving respect to the old school but with a fresh, contemporary twist... I love synchopation, poly-rythyms and odd time signatures. I'm a sucker for attention to detail, every nuance should be given its due credit. I love rock/blues/metal but have a soft spot for jazz and marching arrangements. I enjoy "thinking outside the box" as far as improvisation goes.
I could be known as an asset, not expendable. I'm merely confident in my abilities and believe I could fill your temporary or full time void. I love drum circles, street drumming with anything i can get my hands on. I enjoy going to clinics and seeing what the locals have to offer. I love collaboration and don't discriminate genera.
I've had extensive marching, jazz, concert, symphony, rock/metal choir experience and my limits don't necessarily end with percussion. I've added backup as well as fronted a few personal acts through the years emphasizing in rock.
