MusiCOOLity provides DJ services primarily, because that is what we are most frequently asked to provide. We also provide live music when needed, such as "one man band" music for parties, and organ / piano music for weddings. For the sake of simplicity, here we will be talking about DJ services. However, everything here refers equally to live music services as well as DJ services.
MusiCOOLity is operated by Darren and Kristen Lambert, professional musicians and performers. We are young and energetic, and we specialize in CLEAN, FUN events. Whatever you're planning (whether it be a wedding, birthday party, anniversary celebration, school dance, corporate party, etc), you can count on MusiCOOLity to play clean music only, give you exactly what you want, and handle your event professionally from start to finish.
The DJ/entertainer is the most important vendor you can hire for any party or celebration, because the purpose of the celebration is to get people together and have a great time. The event being celebrated (birthday, marriage, graduation, anniversary, holiday, etc) will happen whether it is celebrated with a party or not... so the point of the party is to have fun, make great memories, reconnect with people, etc. It's the DJ's responsibility to make sure the people have a great time... and if you hire a poor-quality DJ, it won't matter how great the hall looks, nor how tasty the food is, nor how beautiful the dress is... people will leave early and remember your party as "that one where the DJ stunk" for years. The DJ makes the difference between success and failure, when it comes to celebrations.
Here is what you will get if you hire us:
1) Two DJs- Darren & Kristen (And what's better than a husband-wife team?). We don't send "employees" or "subcontractors" out to our events. We don't smoke nor drink, and we will handle your wedding professionally from start to finish (and it will be FUN!).
2) Darren as the MC. He has a clear, radio-trained microphone voice and will only talk as much as
needed (Some DJs talk too much- that'll ruin the mood of any party).
3) A powerful sound system, customized to provide the correct amount of sound power up to 2,000 Watts.
4) A dance floor light show to make the dance floor more exciting during fast songs, and to set the mood during slow songs. (This is for indoor events, and outdoor events with nighttime hours, only.)
5) Wireless Internet request handling and a fully legal music library.
6) Our promise of CLEAN MUSIC ONLY. With so
much offensive / explicit music out there today, it's good to know that
your DJ won't play any of it. We'll play any song as long as it can come out of our speakers
sounding clean enough to run no risk of offending, for example, elderly
people. We believe in keeping our events clean and fun for the whole
family, so if you must have explicit / obscene music played at this
party, please, hire someone else. We are Christians and will not compromise our personal and business principles for money.
7) Probably the most important one of all. If you hire us, we will be there. We do not sell our events to other DJs, we do not subcontract events out to anyone, and it would take an extreme emergency for us to have to cancel. With two of
us at the helm, one could have an emergency and the other could still handle the event. Many DJs will book an event at a really low price and then continue pursuing leads for events on that same date, quoting much higher prices to the other event planners. If they manage to book a better-paying event, they'll find another DJ to take the cheaper event and then give excuses to the first event planner about how "something came up", saying that they found someone else who could take the event. That's sleazy, and we never do that. You hire us, you get us.
Understand that there are cheaper DJs out there, as well as more expensive DJs. We aren't the cheapest - we are the best deal. If you are interested in nothing more than getting the lowest price, MusiCOOLity is probably not the DJ for you. The cheapest anything is never the best, and the most expensive anything is never the best deal. Cheap DJs are cheap because they wouldn't be able to book events if they weren't cheap (meaning that their work isn't very good). The expensive DJs are usually more like full service event planners.

As DJs, we've been influenced by all of the bad DJs out there who wrecked events we've attended... as well as by the experiences we've had, both good and bad, at events that were run by DJs. We keep the good stuff we've experienced and avoid the bad stuff, all while personalizing every event we do.
As live musicians, we do mostly cover songs and our styles are oldies, country, classic rock, and songs from before the rock era (pre-1955). We've been influenced by our audiences more than anything, because their requests and reactions speak volumes about the music we ought to be playing.
What to Expect
Many times, a guest at an event where we were the entertainment has said that it was the most fun (wedding, party, dance, etc) he/she has ever been to. That's the MusiCOOLity experience - you will have a lot of fun! It doesn't get any better than that, especially since the purpose of putting on any event is to get a bunch of people together and have fun.

We have a full dance floor light show that has been called "the best light show I've seen" (in the words of a local wedding photographer). We usually perform with a sound system that uses two 15" combination speakers pumping as much as 1,000 Watts of sound power. For larger events, we have a 4-speaker system capable of pumping as much as 2,000 Watts of sound power.
For events that we DJ, we require one 8' rectangular table for our equipment, and two armless chairs for us. There's not much time to sit down while DJing, but we do eat along with everyone else and it helps to be able to sit at those times. In addition to the table and chairs, we put into our contracts that we will be fed for free (which usually means that we get a plated meal along with everyone else, or we can access the buffet line with everyone else) and that we require plain water to drink.
We also require one parking space (within 300 feet of the closest entrance door to where we'll be setting up) capable of fitting a large pickup truck, and at larger events the parking space/area must be able to fit a pickup truck pulling a 6'x10' cargo trailer. Parking fees, if there are any, must be paid by the client. Also, we must not have to cross over traffic with our equipment as we set up and tear down- that's unsafe for us.
We require two electrical outlets, each on a separate circuit of at least 15 Amps, for normal events. (Most places have this already.) For events where we need the 2,000-Watt sound system, each circuit must be capable of at least 20 Amps of electrical current. We use one outlet for the sound equipment and one for the lighting equipment - the speakers will hum if the lighting is on the same circuit as the sound equipment.
Our setup location must be adjacent to the dancing area, and it must not interfere with foot traffic. This means we need to set up in a place where our equipment and wires will not be stepped on nor pose a trip hazard to guests or venue employees.
