Abbie Lawrence has been a full time professional entertainer since 1981. She’s performed throughout Colorado and other western states, and as far afield as England, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Turkey on three tours for the Armed Forces Professional Entertainment Office. She has appeared nationally on Starz Entertainment TV and for MTV. In and around her home base of Denver, she’s well know as a face painter, balloon artist, handwriting analyst, clown, mime, and all-round entertainer for children’s and corporate events. Her face painting features a variety of styles from delicate cheek art to dramatic full faces, using only FDA-approved cosmetic products. She took first place in the face painting creativity challenge sponsored by the Wolfe Bros at the 2009 FABIC (international face painting convention) in Orlando,FL.
Since founding her business MimeTime, Abbie has performed at literally thousands of private parties and public events in schools, homes, libraries, festivals, and business locales. She also offers handwriting analysis, and as a Certified Grapho-Analyst has presented her handwriting-based motivational program in corporate and academic venues.
Abbie is also known as an instructor, having taught scores of workshops for schools, libraries, and art and religious centers. Her own education goes back to 1976, with performing arts studies at SUNY Brockport and Temple University, and privately with such masters as Samuel Avital and Avner the Eccentric. To this day she continues to hone her skills at conventions and master classes.
