Meria Shantez is a natural and definitely one to watch. She is a singer/songwriter from Gretna, FL. Daughter of a Playwright (Cherry Parks), she composed the title song for the Stage Play Production “I Almost Gave Up”. She has also loaned her writing skills to other plays such as “It Pays to Dream,” “It’s Not Over Yet,” “Don’t Count Me Out,” or “From Rags to Riches, You Can Make It Off of Broken......Pieces.” Refining her vocal abilities under the tutelage of choir director Rasheen Jamison Richardson, Meria has travelled to Manhattan, NY with her high school honors chorale, the "Jaguar Singers". She performed under the direction of the renowned Jeffery Redding at the legendary Carnegie Hall.
It is her prayer that lives are changed through the ministry that God has placed in her. Don't give up on the promise God has given you. Not matter how much pain you have gone through, you must know that it had a purpose. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Regardless of your situation, you must know that you have a purpose!
Meria is multi-talented and confident in who God has called her to be. Singing since the age of 9, her desire is to impact the world through music. She longs to be a vessel that God can use to spread his Word through song. You can hear the passion in her voice.
She has a heart for the elderly as well as youth. Building a home for the elderly and a center for the youth is only a portion of what Meria desires to do.
Those close to her describe her as a shopping fanatic. She also enjoys writing and hanging with her friends.
