Lori Vann as a Conference Presenter/Speaker

I have attended two of Lori's seminars/presentations and have learned much each time. Lori is professional and personal, knowledgeable and real....all wrapped up in one! She has an interesting and serious yet calm and encouraging presentation style.... which makes for a great learning environment for the entire audience. Having been a social worker for over 30 years, I have attended, presented or facilitated many educational opportunities. I say this only because I feel qualified to give her the highest rating and to say that I will recommend her presentations to any person or group. Thank you, Lori for helping me learn new things!

We had a women's retreat in Dallas and booked Lori as our main conference speaker and we were very happy. Our WMU Baptist Retreat was a great success due to her motivational lecture, we learned new stress relieving techniques that are being applied. It has been a week since we were there and our group is still energized by her lecture. I would book her for another conference.

I have actually attended two seminars in which Lori Vann taught. She is an incredibly professional and well informed counselor and speaker. Lori seems to really care about the girls she counsels (my teen daughter saw her privately, as well, with some great results), yet she is also incredibley professional which, I believe, earns her great respect. Her knowledge on current destructive, teen behavior is very helpful for parents who may not know what the new obstacles are for our children.

I would recommend any seminar or event where Lori is speaking.

I have attended 2 workshop presentations of Ms. Vann's in the past; one of which she was the primary organizer. I remain impressed with her calm style and confident, intelligent mastery of varied and timely topics. Her organizational skills, organizational style and professionalism are impeccable and flavored with calm acceptance. I would recommend her highly for presenting and/or coordinating a seminar in any of the specialties in her field of expertise. Thank you!

Lori Vann presented her information in a very well organized, easy to follow format. I enjoyed her presentation and would recommend her to any company, group, etc. that is looking for an informative presentation on what is and is not appropriate in today's workplace. She touched on several topics including setting time and health boundaries for yourself and how to conduct yourself professionally at the office. You will not be disappointed if you hire Lori Vann to present at your function.

I really enjoyed working with Deborah and the ARMA networking event. Everyone was kind and had wonderful feedback. I discussed a universal topic of Boundaries in the Workplace and the majority of the room could relate to the various examples and issues that I presented. I also made myself available for questions after the presentation and had some contact me via e-mail for follow up information.

Best wishes to this group and I would be a pleasure to work with them again.

Overview

Media: mental health consultant and actress-- I am able to provide you with over 13 years of counseling experience. I am comfortable in front of the camera or behind the scenes working with the writers. To date, I have given 6 television interviews as an expert on several different topics. The interviews can be seen on my website: www.LoriVannCounseling.com MEDIA HAPPENINGS. I also have acting experience, so if you have a need for a therapist, speaker, professor, or a character with a mental health issue, then I can assist you with those needs.

As a speaker, I am flexible and casual with my audience. I actively engage the audience with questions and feedback. I often use PowerPoint for my presentations, but can speak without it. Feedback that I have received from professional speaking groups, such as the Speaker's Co-Op, is that they felt that I am a "natural" at speaking & that I engage the audience.

I tailor my presentation to your event's needs, whether that be time constraints or specific areas that you would like for me to address.

Media Venues that I have participated in include: national radio for interviews and co-host of a radio show, Dallas-Ft. Worth television stations, several newspaper interviews, consulted on stories for national magazine, filmed for an upcoming movie called Relationships 901 as a relationship expert, and I have reviewed scrips for movies regarding mental health issues.

Additional Booking Notes

If I am using PowerPoint, I will need a screen and may need a PowerPoint projector, depending on the location of the venue. Depending on the size of the venue, I may need a microphone. I can provide my own laptop and laser pointer.

Professional speaker and mental health media consultant these are the ways that I can assist your project. Whether you need a speaker for a small or large group, your audience will leave feeling satisfied. I consult for all types of media (see Media Happenings/News on my website for a list of interviews). Writers and Directors--I can review your script for an accurate depiction of mental health issues.

I have a passion for speaking and for trying to help better people's lives through my educational presentations or assisting the media with accurate mental health information or portrayals. I use an interactive approach and encourage audience participation. I am flexible and work with a variety of settings.

Speaking background: I have presented all over Texas & in Hawaii during the last 14 years, and have been asked to come back as a presenter for several of those locations. I have been a two-time presenter for the Mental Health America's Adolescent Symposium, a three time presenter for the Collin County Council on Family Violence conference, and presenter for two state conferences. Both events attract several hundred professionals from various backgrounds in mental health, nursing, probation, academia, and the general public. In addition, I have also presented at State wide conferences. I'm comfortable presenting to large crowds & have given several presentations where there were over 120 individuals present. In regards to colleges, I have presented to four of the metroplex's campuses. School districts have requested that I come to speak to them on a variety of subjects that range from perfectionism, self-injury, mean girls/bullying, boundaries, abuse identification, stress management, and drug education. I have been nicknamed the "local expert" and "guru" of self-injury and also the "teen whisperer". Go to www.LoriVannCounseling. for a list of presentations and specifics about upcoming events.

Corporations, School Districts, Churches, Conventions: contact me about your special needs and I can tailor my presentation to your group.

Companies--want to improve your bottom line by reducing disability claims--ask me how!

School districts--do you see a rise in certain types of behaviors or feel that some issues are not being addressed by parents, let me know!

Churches--do you feel out-of-the-loop with what is going on with teens today and how to deal with it--CONTACT ME. Do you have singles or couples that don't know how to communicate? I can help.

Whether you need me to speak to a small group of 10 people or a large group of several hundred, I handle your event with the same level of professionalism and dedication to trying to make sure that your vision of that event comes true.

My speaking services are more affordable than what you might think. I also GIVE DISCOUNTS to churches and school districts.

MENTAL HEALTH CONSULTANT:
Films: Relationships 901--filmed for the movie as an industry expert and also served as a consultant for the film Better Lived Than Dreamed by Brandon Marshall. I also consulted on a PSA for depression. Currently, I have been doing guest interviews for an upcoming TV show called RAW--Real Authentic Women. As of September, two of my four interviews for http://womananew.com/ internet TV have posted. The Boundaries interview is approx. 14 minutes in length and the Dating interview is approx. 7 minutes.

TV:
In regards to TV interviews, I have been interviewed by CW33 evening news three times and CBS 11 evening news (SEE NEWS page on my website www.lorivanncounseling.com to view all of the TV interviews). At the end of October 2009, I was on a panel of professionals during a premier of KERA's Boyfriends documentary and will be listed on their website as a referral. The director of the Boyfriends' film interviewed me regarding my professional opinion about issues that were brought up during the filming of their documentary. You can go to my Media Happenings page on my website to find the links to the TV interviews.

On the Media Happenings page of my website, you will be able to see the four newspapers that have interviewed me regarding self-injury and other media outlets, such as two magazines, that I have spoken to regarding parenting issues with teens and boundary issues in dating.

I would gladly be a mental health consultant for your film or television show. If you are writing a script or filming an actor and want the scene to depict an emotional issue correctly, please contact me for an on-set consultation. I can also offer some acting services and be a counselor or professor in your production. I have additional information about acting and consulting on www.onlocationcasting.net/LVannLPCS.
