Kameisha Jerae

About

Since grade six, Kameisha has always been known for her ability to master and manipulate the English language to express herself. This was made manifest in her working with American University’s WAMU Youth Voices, ThinkMTV, ability to attend the Society of Professional Journalists’ National Journalism Conference, and being published in the Georgetown Journal of Law & Modern Critical Race Perspectives. Because of her achievements at a young age, the continued support that she received was the fire that fueled her in completing and publishing her first collection of poetry, Atlas of Consciousness (2010) and pursuing her interests in poetry and music. Her recent accomplishments include being published in a Canadian anthology named "The Poetry of War and Peace" (January 2012) and winning first place in Cafe de la Pensee's Global Cultural Competition (February 2012).

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 90 minutes

Clients will have a worry-free guarantee; other than payment, choosing poem content for the event, providing adequate lighting and sound, and providing a few details about the event, the client will have no other obligations to the performance. S/he should expect Kameisha Jerae to actively engage the audience throughout the entire performance. S/he should also expect a minimum of a 30 minute performance, unless otherwise negotiated.
