John Davis is a internationally known Speaker, Comedian, Author and Action Hero. John resides is Akron Ohio and is a Professor at Oberlin College where he teaches in the theater department. As an international entertainer, John has traveled extensively throughout the world speaking to audiences of all ages and backgrounds in 28 countries and over four thousand live performances. John encourages his audiences to set and reach their highest potentials and is often invited back as a personal performance coach.
Since the tragic events of September 11, 2001 John has dedicated a great amount of time bringing entertainment to the soldiers overseas. On six USO tours, John has performed more than one hundred shows and has taken his comedy to even the most remote bases in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He also attended the University of Delaware studying Architecture. John served as the Entertainment Director of four regional theme parks across the nation, where he developed a reputation for reversing negative trends. With John at the helm of both entertainment and marketing the parks witnessed growths of up to 60% in a single years time. Most recently he worked in partnership with Young Audiences of North East Ohio developing programs for schools on the subjects of Achievement, Bullying, and Shakespeare.
John is also highly respected internationally as a fight director and is a recognized instructor with the International Order of the Sword and Pen, an organization that brings together instructors from around the globe who are renowned in both stage and film.
John is the owner of Corporate Action Hero where he provides keynotes, workshops, and coaching, for individuals and organizations. John is the Proud Father of his son Kynan and Husband of his beautiful and talented wife Kelly. John has been featured on The Today Show and The Discovery Channel as well a dozens dozens of regional broadcasts and radio shows. He has authored the book “Signs Along The Path” and is about to release his new book, “Be an Action Hero NOT a Reaction Zero”

Influences
I am a good friend of Dan Thurmon 2011 National Speaking Association Hall of Fame inductee and have always found Dan as a great influence. My own comedy sword-fighting act Hack and Slash has performed over four thousand live shows in sixteen countries (including Iraq and Afghanistan on six USO tours) and those experience have proven to be most influential in my life.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 35 - 60 minutes
Audiences will laugh and be empowered through insightful comedy, fancy bullwhip cracking, interactive fun, and inspirational stories of true action heroes.

Keynote:
1. Please provide a riser (stage) measuring a minimum of 12 feet deep by 24 feet wide. The riser ensures safety and visibility.
2. Wireless lavaliere microphone
3. IPod connection (1/8 inch mini cable)
4. Laptop projector and screen (I will bring my own laptop)
5. Because of the Bullwhip portion of the address, it is ideal to have a minimum ceiling height of at least 12 feet.
6. Please set the first row of chairs no more than six feet from the front of the stage.

Workshop:
1. Please provide a very large workspace preferably a gymnasium or comparably sized space.
2. Attendees should dress as if they were headed to the gym. No High heels or dresses. Loose fitting clothing with athletic shoes are required for safety reasons.
