Great Choice for our Family Reunion!
Ian Videl was the headline event at our family reunion in Daytona Beach, Florida this past weekend. Ian was a joy to work with, flexible and eager to provide top notch service. And he and the band did not disappoint! The Jazz sound was superb: complimentary when called for,dynamic and charismatic when the band took center stage. All of the vocalist and musicians were top notch, and although Ian Videl excelled in jazz, the band was equally excellent in rhythm and blues and popular dance tunes. The audience was on their feet dancing and having a great time. We THOROUGLY enjoyed Ian and the band! What a great choice!

About
Born on the Island of Dominica West Indies, Ian was highly influenced by Caribbean music and culture. From school competitions to playing with local bands from the Island, he knew he wanted to make music a professional career. It was Ian's first visit to the Unites States when he discovered Smooth Jazz and from there on, Ian wanted to be a smooth Jazz musician.
At the age of sixteen, he first started playing the piano, learned a little bit of guitar and bass. AT age nineteen, he played professionally for local bands in the Island of Tortola BVI. After a few short years, Ian traveled to the United States for the second time where he wanted to pursue his passion for music. At his time of stay, he attended a small church in New York where he performed as the lead keyboardist. Following a few short months Ian co- produced a Christian album with fellow band members, which had a sound of Caribbean music and American gospel.
Ian's greatest passion as a musician is to entertain his audience with music. "Nothing gives me greater pleasure than performing live to an audience who enjoys, appreciates, good music and entertainment". A versatile musician who loves all kinds of music but has a passion for Smooth Jazz, a combination of R&B, Funk, Latin with a smooth jazzy feel!
You can definitely hear the mixture of influences in his unique styles and creations. He also enjoys Instrumentals, Pop, Soul, Motown, Techno, Classical Piano, and Reggae. Some of Ian's skills as a musician is the ability to arrange, write, and compose his own music, but he is more about creating musical variety, and a fun atmosphere.
Ian's band approach is to combine experience and unique sensibility, versatility, and great sound in his music. His dream is to be successful in the music industry, and work with various artists, where he can express and exchange possible influences and ideas.
