From the Shadows 5 piece Classic Rock band comprising Lead Guitar/lead/backing vox, Bass Guitar/backing/lead vox, Keys/backing vox Drums, Percussion. We offer our own unique twist of Classic Rock songs from the 60's thru 90's and more. All the members are well proven players from various genre's and global locations including the USA, UK, South America all reflected in our style of play. We have all been influenced over many years by a diversity of artists who's songs are covered in our performances. Such great hits as Layla, Hush, Superstition, All Along the Watchtower, Mummas got a Squeezebox, are just some of our featured cover songs. We are available for Club, Bar, and Parties.
"From the Shadows" live performance 50th Surprise Birthday
"From the Shadows", appeared at a surprise 50th birthday party for my uncle held last summer and they even played an arrangement of two songs linked together by his favorite band, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. They came up with a pair of songs that they used the opening bars from one as an intro ( Theme for the Common Man) to initiate the song and then went into the main tune which was Touch and Go. At the end of that song they closed with an outro of the same opening bars again from Theme for the Common Man. My uncle was ecstatic that they went to such effort to make his special day as good as it was, and amazingly they learned and rearranged those songs with less than a week to prepare it for his special birthday party. The band played some great classics from the Rock era and everyone was amazed at the response they got from a very wide ranging variety of ages in the audience. The party was held at a relatives house bordering on a lake in Guilford CT, and there were neighbors, an old couple of at least 70+ years old, dancing on their pier deck to the music. Several folks around the lake made good comments about how the band sounded and asked for their contact details. I have since seen the band in action several times at bars and clubs locally where they have had a good turnout and many, many, great compliments paid to how they sound. I would thoroughly recommend, " From the Shadows", for any event where good music from the Classic Rock era would be appreciated.

From the Shadows provides our clients with a wide selection of Classic Rock tunes from 60's era thru 90's era and then some more.
We have a diverse grouping of musicians from many different genre's that have all played at a very high standard of musicianship.
There is a USA influence from our lead vacals/guitar Joe Ayala, who has opened for some big names such as the Ginger Baker touring band { drummer of Eric Clapton/Cream fame) Jord Nicely bass player/lead backing vocals who has organized and hosted electric and acoustic open mics at many bars, clubs. and events throughout Connecticut and Michigan areas. Dan Barletta, keys and synths/backing vocals, who has played in several tribute bands covering the tunes of bands such as Yes and Deep Purple and played as stadium organist at the AHL and NHL events. Jim Mansell, Drums, who has played in many bands and styles for over 50 years in the UK often with long spells of residence in some of the best venues in and around London including the Marquee Club from back in the famous 60's rock era in the UK including a tour of the then famous Mecca Circuit of dance halls. Sammy Mendez our South American influence gives the band a unique sound that often smacks of Santana/Allman Brothers with his very skilled hands on percussion. From the Shadows can entertain at most venues with sufficient stage space for a 5 piece band either indoor or at open air events/festivals, and we are known for being able to get the crowd on their feet with our musical energy that defies our years. We traditionally play a 3 set performance covering from 180 to 210 minutes of musical entertainment at it's very best.
We supply all our own PA system equipment and some mood lighting but are happy to use in house setups if they are adequate for our needs. The band will travel somewhat to play at your venue but larger distances travelled to a venue have to be reflected in the amount of pay negotiated. We have many influences in our play list that include but not limited to, Eric Clapton(Cream) , The Who, Allman Brothers, Joe Walsh, Jimmy Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Jeff Healey Band, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Bad Company, Deep Purple, Stevie Wonder, The Eagles and many many more. Our arrangements are set to compliment the diverse band setup and it's said do add a special something to our play bringing out the best in musicality from each members vast experience. Influences
As stated in our bio section we have been influenced by many bands and artists in our vast years of cross section experiences. A large amount of influence has come from UK bands who have in most part influenced the Rock Music scene for years such as The Who, Bad Company, Free, Deep Purple, The Rolling Stones and many more.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 150 - 250 minutes
We make it a point to foster audience participation which can be anything from getting up to dance to making announcements via the mic to promote the event or special occasion. We love seeing folks having fun and strive to make sure their night is as enjoyable as possible. In our older audience members we hope to give them the feeling of great nostalgia taking many of them back to their youth when they enjoyed these songs as carefree teens and once again feel invigorated by hearing them just as they recall. We also hope that from our efforts our audiences will remember our name, "From the Shadows" and come back for more or even organize their own event just to have us all back to play for them our great sounding music experience.

We offer complete stage backline equipment for any venue ranging from the smaller bars and clubs to the larger party venues available for rent. Stage effect lighting can also be provided to set the mood for a night of Classic Rock sounds. ALL WE REQUIRE IS A POWER OUTLET AND WE HAVE ALL SYSTEMS GO.
