Melissa’s early ambition to become a professional makeup and hair artist began while studying at Paul Mitchell the school under such master stylists as Vivienne Mackinder, Melissa Jacqua, Robert Cromeans, and Donald Scott. Even when learning about self taught artists such as Pat McGrath she felt she still needed some sort of stepping stone to becoming a great makeup & hair artist. After taking a course in makeup she was fascinated on how her instructor could transform a face with simple steps in which she calls her “Aaha moment”, having that extra bit of knowledge really allowed her to move a bit further and faster into the industry then she imagined. She understood that using makeup and styling hair was also a creative process. And from that point on she began to pay attention to fashion & beauty magazines and other artists she so admired. She was also taken by how the artist in her had changed her own look. So she started buying up all kinds of makeup & hair products to build her kit and began volunteering at local college fashion shows and events to gain as much experience and exposure that she could. She even started assisting celebrity makeup artist Lorena Lopez, and during that time learned so much more. While working hard to build her name she found herself working with top talents in photography, design, styling, modeling, music, acting, and directing.

With only 4yrs in the industry she is now an accomplished in-demand makeup & hair artist with experience in all aspects of media makeup: fashion & beauty, video & print. She continues to enjoy learning and teaching about makeup and hairstyling skills, and is always on the lookout for ways in which she can bring both the latest looks and styles, as well as classic standards of beauty, to her diverse clientele. With her tremendous talent, outgoing personality, honesty, reliability, and passion, she will continue to be a rising star!
