About The Erny Bruny Band
The Erny Bruny Band is a Long Island-based band that has been providing listeners in the Tri-State Area and neighboring states with great music. We are a group of incredibly talented musicians who love what we do and are very enthusiastic about our music. Our goal is to provide you with fantastic music and great performances at affordable prices. We fit well in most occasions, from small clubs, to concert halls, with extensive experience performing for weddings, corporate functions, private parties, dances, concerts, etc. We are an extremely versatile band. We play a wide variety of music with a strong Blues and R&B flavor: Reggae, Calypso, Soft Rock, Blues, Pop and Jazz Standards.
Biography:
I was already playing the guitar when I came to the US as a child in 1967 and by 1970 I was already a member of the R&B scene in New York City. I joined Marvin Lucas and the Good Timers and went touring in the South but unfortunately the tour did not last long. While attending Hunter College, I met Randy Muller, the leader of the popular R&B band Brass Construction and he asked me to join his band but I declined the opportunity since I had just started to study music at Hunter. However, we remained friends and my talent was used on many of his recording sessions. While in college, I was introduced to jazz, I became one of the proteges of the legendary bassist, Milt Hinton. Under the guidance of Milt, Barry Galbraith, my teacher and other notables such as Mauricio Smith, Paul West and the Legendary Billy Mitchell who I met along the way, I flourished as a jazz guitarist and still maintained my strong blues, rock, and R&B styles. Throughout my musical journey, I enriched myself with a wide variety of styles but remained loyal to my Haitian and Caribbean roots. I was blessed enough to have work with superstars such as Vicky Sue Robinson, Ollie Woodson of the Temptations, Barbara Joyce of BT Express and many Caribbean artists etc.
