DJ Matt Weston has extensive background in the entertainment industry, high end events and corporate trade shows. He enjoys an eclectic variety of music from top 40, world fusion, indie, electro, house, dark alternative, swing, tribal, rock, new wave, 80's, 90's and much more. Matt analyzes his audience and drives them into an emotional euphoria that takes them on a musical journey to fit any event and audience. He has played for a multitude of clients, corporate to subculture, ranging from Burning Man to Harvard, H&M to COSM, traveling from Boston to Sacramento and part of the LGBTQ community. DJ Matt Weston drops the laptop for turntables in order to connect with the music and audience.
I'd hired Matt to perform for a corporate event I was coordinating performance artists with. Matt provides something that very few DJs do these days, a sense of musicianship. In a world full of people who book themselves as a "DJ" if they can make a playlist on iTunes, Matt's ability to read a crowd, play to their needs, keep everything within the theme and genre of the event, and drive the energy forward; it's more than just a breathe of fresh air, it's absolutely wonderful. He was responsive to my questions, amendable to ideas, and 100% professional throughout the entire process.

What DJ Matt Weston DOES:
• DJ / Musician with an extensive background in music theory, audio engineering and open format DJ'ing and hundreds of previous clients spread throughout the United States
• A DJ for audiophiles, musicians, and high end clients that expect a continuous flow of music to set an atmosphere, build a progressive auditory journey, and an experience that is subliminal, euphoric, danceable, and inspiring.
• Mixes and mashes on the fly while beat matching by ear a wide spectrum of music genres from past to present, from coast to coast, from country to country.
• DJ that skips the laptop and uses CDJ players in order to focus as much time on the music as interpreting the body language, cultures, ages, races, sexual orientation, gender orientation and more of diverse crowds and connects them together in unity through music
• Prepares secondary and back up equipment for ALL clients (as technology can fail) so the event runs seamlessly no matter what happens and in unpredictable conditions
• Requires clients to fill out an information sheet regarding staging, venue, safety, cultures, audience type, etc. and prepares each staging area to look and feel professional and world class
What Matt Weston DOES NOT do:
• Karaoke and laptop DJ'ing
• Use premade set lists
• "syncing" button DJ
• DJ that uses ONLY the present Top 40 Tracks of a certain country or genre
• DJ that sinks his head in front of a laptop
• DJ that screams into a microphone all night
• Panic under technical or venue malfunctions
• Have no communication or preproduction with the client before hand and on site, let cables and the staging area look like a disaster and create a safety hazard

“Matt Weston, DJ Recluse, was one of the most professional, responsible, and original DJs that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I heard him spin at a masquerade ball, and I knew we had to have him for Harvard Divinity School’s 200th anniversary party. Our audience was extremely diverse in terms of ages and tastes, and Matt was totally in his element curating an evening of music that got everyone dancing and having a blast. Matt made sure that everything was in place, from the technical aspects of the evening to the creative vision for several hours of entertainment. He also rolled with all of our last minute requests. I would recommend Matt for any event and loved his fresh take on classic tunes, which he merged seamlessly into top-40 dance music, and then back into a crowd-pleasing oldies. Thanks for taking all the worry out of our musical needs, Matt!”
- Ainsley Tucker (Bicentennial Coordinator - Harvard University Divinity - Cambridge, MA.)
"Artisan’s Asylum was lucky enough to have Matt spin our first-ever gala last month, and we attribute a large part of the event’s success to his talents. Despite a last-minute booking, Matt brought so much creativity and professionalism to the party. His ability to go with the flow and ‘read the room’ allowed him to set the mood perfectly. He truly captured the atmosphere we were trying to create, and our guests loved him so much that they were begging us to extend the event so that he could keep playing. We cannot thank him enough!"
-Christine Glowacki (Development Manager, Artisan's Asylum, Somerville, MA)

- Brian Deblonk (Owner / Event Producer - Capital Campaigns Inc - Sacramento, CA)
