Whether your event is Arabian Nights themed or you are looking for unique entertainment, add sparkle to your next event with a professional Middle Eastern dancer. Dima offers both performance and lesson packages for a memorable addition to your special occasion. We can also custom tailor to your specifications, just ask!

Each performance includes the use of props (finger cymbals, veil, Isis wings, sword, etc.) where appropriate, music analysis, dance choreography, music preparation, travel time, and time in terms of costuming and stage make-up application and of course the performance itself. Dima is a trained professional with 9 years of experience and training in Middle Eastern dance. She performs and teaches regularly in addition to continued dance education with classes, workshops and routine practice. All packages are custom tailored to the individual audience in terms of costume, music, and prop choices.

Dima offers various performance and lesson packages for your guests, specifically tailored to suit the needs of your particular event. From large, formal weddings to relaxed birthday parties, Dima knows what each event needs.

In addition to performances she also offers "Shimmy Parties" where guests can learn to belly dance!

DIMA'S DANCE RESUME:

-9 years of bellydance training and experience. Her two main teachers include Helena Melone and Sabrina Lichtenwalner.

-Multiple workshops with dancers from all over the United States including, but not limited to, such world famous dancers as Bozenka, Amar Gamal and Michelle Joyce.

-Founding member of Lotus Moon, a bellydance fusion group, which performed throughout the New England area at various bellydance and private events for about 5 years.

-Co-owner of the Lotus Rising World Dance studio for 3 years where she also taught bellydance.

-Dancer at the New Hampshire Renaissance Faire since its first year running in 2005. NHRF is a charity faire which has given thousands to local non-profits such as the New Hampshire Food Bank and SPCA.

As a soloist, Dima has focused primarily on the modern bellydance style which most people think of when they hear the word bellydance. She has a soft spot for classical Egyptian bellydance music, but her collection includes a variety of classic, modern, Arabic pop, bollywood and fusion pieces. Dima enjoys bringing her audience traditional bellydance entertainment with a modern appeal by blending art and entertainment into one.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 10 - 30 minutes

A typical belly dance performance will include a dramatic entrance (be it a surprise or scheduled) with Isis wings, veil and/or finger cymbals and upbeat music. Next, the show will typically change to a slower song using a prop such as balancing a scimitar. From there the music picks up again for another upbeat song, usually finishing with an energetic drum solo. Depending on your event and needs, Dima can dance to an upbeat Arabic pop song (or song of your choice) and get the audience and/or guest of honor up to dance. After the performance she will pose for pictures with guests. If you are looking for that extra "WOW" factor, try two performances with costume change!

Another option is to add a mini lesson after the performance. Dima will teach your guests how to belly dance! A hip scarf and bindis are available for your guest of honor to keep!

Don't need a performance but want a fun lesson for your guests? Shimmy Parties are also available! The guest of honor will receive a hip scarf and bindis. These are great for birthdays and bachelorette parties.

Additional Notes:
Suggested stage: Optimally at least 7x7 (or larger) clear, wood floor but Dima can work with your needs. She's danced on everything from grass to beach sand. Please let her know the size of the space and ceiling height as some props cannot be used in small spaces. Dima cannot dance in the same space as wiring as it is very easy to trip, so please clear the area before she performs. If you would like a sword performance please be aware of children who may wander into the dance space. If you would like the performance to be a surprise please provide a safe place for Dima to hide.

Performance Packages range from quick and fun Bellygrams to Delux Performances that will be the talk of the evening. Want more interaction to get the guests dancing? Try adding a Mini Lesson after the show.

Dima also offers fun Shimmy Parties specifically designed for entertaining guests by learning some fun bellydance moves. Shimmy Parties are great for bachelorette parties, girl’s nights, hen’s nights and baby showers!
