In addition to the requisite standards that every are common to anyone who has performed or listened to jazz, you'll hear a lot of latin & caribbean influences, and blues in our music.
About
The Sonoran Jazz Project is the professional outgrowth of a musical relationship that began years ago when Matt Johnson met Tanya Hedjazi in the music program at Northern Arizona University. Today, more than ten years later, that relationship continues and has produced a lot of great music.
"In addition to the requisite standards that every are common to anyone who has performed or listened to jazz, you'll hear a lot of latin & caribbean influences, funk, & blues in our music. We perform in the classical style as well for weddings and other special occasions as necessity demands. The concept behind Sonoran Jazz Project is to provide clients with customizable options when hiring a musical group. We've made a lot of outstanding musical acquaintances in our years playing together which allows us to offer a lot of options. Although we perform as a quartet by default, we can also perform as a duo, trio, or as a quintet or sextet with ease, so we have something to fit every budget. We are always modifying and extending our list of musical offerings and special requests are always welcome."

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 45 - 180 minutes
Audience members can expect to experience inspired, straight-ahead jazz, latin-jazz, and fusion jazz performed with a lot of "in-the-moment" sensibility. We place our emphasis on delivering high-level improvised jazz. Please contact us for a list of note-able past performances and future dates.
Additional Notes:
We require about 100 sqft for the quartet at a minimum with power available nearby.
