Carlos David
Singing Guitarist in Allendale, Michigan
Why hire Carlos David?
As a seasoned performer, Carlos specializes in a wide variety of popular music spanning from Al Green to Jack Johnson, all performed with acoustic guitar and voice. Band also available for larger gigs like corporate parties or festivals.
His performances are balanced for the perfect blend of rock out, ballads and story based covers including top notch originals all on acoustic guitar. No two gigs are the same and Carlos adapts for each one depending on client preference and mood. Passion and love for performance make his music a welcomed element to any special occasion.
Carlos also plays with RIVER CITY STEW as lead vocalist/guitar and is also available for hire as a full band.
About
As a self taught musician, Carlos brings a widely diverse set of influences that range from Country, Latin, Rock, Motown, Bossa Nova and even Bluegrass. When asked about his method to set lists, he said, "I like to keep the sets interesting and make it a point to play various types of music based on song type instead of what is just popular."
As a public speaker uses tempo and rhythm to make a collective experience, Carlos uses a Gestalt approach, a graphic design concept, to create an experience that says the sum is greater than the parts of the whole. Depending on the event, he will take the music up and down, groove to rock with enthusiasm and and contagious charisma using his smooth voice and impressive range and occasional flamenco styling to give your guests something to bob their heads in between conversations.
If you ask him, he says he gets the "Chispa" from his musically talented mother, Ligia. This is different from "Chutzpa" being that Carlos is far from rockstar ego and that it's Spanish for "spark". "Singing and playing came naturally to me which is a good vehicle for my passion and empathetic personality" says the guys who regularly will sing happy birthday when he finds out if a guest is celebrating a birthday.
Along with being a skilled singer, he is also a talented song writer with big Nashville ambitions. He is one to watch in this cluttered scene of singer/songwriter crowd.

Personnel
Carlos David: Singer/Guitarist
Influences
James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Gypsy Kings, Al green and Willie Mitchell who developed Green's signature sound which can be heard in a few songs in Carlos' set. There is also a country music tone in his singing, but without the twain. One of his greatest strengths is adapting his voice to the style of the song. If it's Motown, JT or Steve Miller Band, Carlos changes his style just enough to catch the feeling of the melody and words without sacrificing his own passion and interpretation of the song.
