Why hire The Barry Sea Paradox?
The Barry Sea Paradox is one of Houston's most versatile and popular groups. We provide the finest in live entertainment combined with DJ services during breaks, as well as MC services. Our specialties are R&B/Soul and Smooth Jazz. But our repertoire is quite diverse and includes Oldies, Disco, Swing, Latin, Country, Standards, Blues, Motown and all kinds of Dance Music. Instrumentation includes Tenor Sax, Keyboards, Guitar, Bass and Drums. All 5 members of the group sing well, and we bring along our own sound equipment and sound engineer. The group is extremely entertaining, professional, energetic, diverse and fun.
Barry and Barbara (Bobbie)Sea walked away from promising musical careers in New York City to raise their children in the more family friendly environment of Houston, TX. While both have enjoyed successful professional careers outside of entertainment, their love of music never died. So they resurfaced with an exciting R&B/Soul and Smooth Jazz group called The Barry Sea Paradox.
Why a Paradox? A paradox is defined as a statement or proposition that seems contradictory or absurd, but in reality expresses a possible truth. Barry on Sax and Bobbie on drums just don't look like they do what they do...But nobobdy does it better. All members of the group are just superb and can play anything!

Barbara (Bobbie) Sea: Drums, vocals
Dennis Cotton: Keyboards, vocals
Li'l Ricky Morris: Guitar, vocals

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 5 - 360 minutes
The Barry Sea Paradox is an extremely versatile and entertaining group. Our shows are customized to our audiences and can include everything from R&B/Soul vocals, to Smooth Jazz Instrumentals, to Swing, to Disco, to Motown, to Oldies (with original or parady lyrics), to Latin, to Country, to Blues, to Standards, to any kind of dance music. If you like tenor sax, you'll love this group because Barry's unique and unusual style reflects every top sax player from Junior Walker, to King Curtis, to Grover Washington, to Boots Randolph, to Maceo Parker, to Stand Getz and Kenny Gee. Now remember, the group is called a paradox because the members of the group "just don't look like they do what they do." Barry's white and sings like James Brown. Li'l Ricky is Black and sings like Randy Travis. Dennis Cotton looks like a white accountant and sings and plays like Ray Charles. Bobbie's extremely petite, feminine, beautiful and reserved....but plays drums as funky as anyone you'll ever see...And Barry does a show stopper Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong impersonation.
Our set lists are customized to our audiences and events. A partial song list is available by going to www.barrysea.com and visiting the press kit section.
