Christina Reedis
Since a very young age, Christina knew she wanted to play the flute. After picking out the "flute sound" on an orchestral recording, it was destiny.

Born in Chicago, IL, Christina studied with Mary Louise Poor at The North Shore School of Music until the age of 13 when she and her family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. Christina continued her training with Eric Hoover and would later receive a Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from Arizona State University. After graduation from ASU, she moved to Boston to work on a Master’s degree in Flute Performance at New England Conservatory while also playing with the Boston Philharmonic.

In 1993, Christina returned to Arizona where she has built large private flute and piano studios, teaching at two locations of Stages Music in Scottsdale as well at The Phoenix Conservatory of Music. In addition to keeping a busy teaching schedule, she plays with The Scottsdale Arts Orchestra and performs at weddings and special events with Avira Flute Duo and Full Circle (flute and guitar duo) as well as other ensembles in the Phoenix area.

Laura Strickland
As a young girl, Laura loved the sound of the piccolo, so she began flute lessons since she was told she had to master the flute before the piccolo. Intrigued by the study of music, she pursued it further in college, eventually attending Northwestern University to take lessons with her idol, famous Chicago Symphony piccolo player Walfrid Kujala.

In addition to performing at weddings and special events with Avira, Laura also performs with The Scottsdale Arts Orchestra. She teaches flute and piccolo lessons in Fountain Hills, Arizona at the Sonoran Studios.

When not performing, practicing or teaching, Laura works as a brand strategist with Experience Studio. She volunteers as Program Coordinator for KBAQ’s “Encounters with Young Musicians” and is on the board of Scottsdale Musical Arts.

Additional Notes:
We generally play without amplification. If the room is large or outdoors, amplification may be preferable.
