Andrea “AZIMA” Moreira & DANCE BRASIL Entertainmnet
Born in Brazil, Andrea Moreira is the head "DANCE BRASIL" ENTERTAINMENT. She has danced professionally since 1988, and started as a ballet dancer. She came to Atlanta in 1993 and have been doing other dance styles.
Andrea Moreira, also known as "AZIMA", began belly dancing in 1998 and is self-taught. She made her first appearance in October, 1998 at the Imperial Fez for Ted Turner's birthday party. Since then, she has been performing Oriental dance in the Southeast United States and Brazil.
Andrea is the choreographer/director of "DANCE BRASIL" COMPANY. The company is made up of an elite group of professional dancers based in Atlanta area. All members of the company have a solid dance background including, ballet, Latin, jazz, folklore, Middle Eastern, tap .
The company performs dances from Brazil (mainly the samba) in a very elegant and lively manner. We try to bring the essence of the samba and the happiness of the culture through our performances.
The costumes are colorful and elegant. We focus on the beauty of the dance and the talent of the dancers.
Andrea and her partner have been dancing SALSA for years. Their performance are full of energy. Andrea and partner performs a "caliente" show including different styles such as salsa, merengue, bachata. The couple can also teach a basic class on the event, depending on the client request.
Andrea also incorporates SAMBA into the salsa or belly dance shows.
Andrea has been FACE PAINTING for years. She loves to face paint. She can come up with her own ideas or paint according to pictures.
Although not an authentic Hawaiian, Andrea performs HULA DANCE and also includes fire on her shows .
"DANCE BRASIL" ENTERTAINMENT provides a variety of entertainment for any type of event (small or large). We can also provide Vegas Style Showgirls, jugglers, magicians, LIVE Drummers, Bands, DJ's, Stils Walkers and more.
Andrea "AZIMA" Moreira and "DANCE BRASIL" has performed in different venues such as private parties (birthdays, carnaval parties, bar mitzvahs, weddings, anniversaries, bachelorette), festivals, corporate events, schools, restaurants, conventions, galas, fund raisers, theaters, parties, children's parties and more)
Andrea has appeared on on an episode of the Jeff Foxworthy TV show 'Blue Collar Comedy', a video special for Atlanta's Piedmont Park, and at the 75th anniversary of the Fox Theatre.
She performed for the world renowned singer Cheb Khaled on a special night at Imperial Fez and for Shadmehr Aghili and Andy's (famous Persian singers)concert at the Atlanta Symphony Hall.
Andrea is also in the video by the Blackeyed Peas and Sergio Mendes, "MAS QUE NADA" and on a episode of Atlanta Real Housewives.
