Amazing For Both Caregivers and Individuals with Dementia!

Nicholas Arnold performed at a Comedy Day (Special Event) at our Adult Day Program for individuals with dementia and brought laughter like none other! He was available on short notice, easy to contact, responded promptly, arrived with plenty of time to set up and did not require assistance with set up.

He interacted well with our members and was very adaptable taking into consideration their abilities, interests and communication skills. He responded extremely well to the audience as he extended portions of his show to which he was receiving much laughter.

Appropriate show for individuals both of higher and lower functioning as he does give individual attention to the audience members throughout the show.

Can't wait for him to come back and make our members laugh so hard it caused all of our office staff to attend as well!

Great performer for Retirement and Long Term Care Homes!

We enjoyed having Nicholas Arnold at a special event in our Long Term Care Home last week. He was reliable - confirming the date with me ahead of time and showing up early to become familliar with our facility and set up his equipement (all important to an activity coordinator when trying to plan a month of activities for many residents!)
He engaged, and interacted with the residents - and made us LAUGH! (which we all need to do more of, but especially in LTC)

I noticed he was also sensitive to the needs and responses from some of our special care residents. Our residents could very much relate to this era of comedy - with opportunities to reminisce.

Thank you Nicholas for a great show!

Blew us away!

We were so impressed by the accurate imitation, first of all. Having listened to and watched Jerry for many years, the visual and audio presentation was so bang on on. Set pieces and ad libs were skillfully woven. Add to that the intricacies of timing - the syncopation of the typewriter bit, and the pauses in delivering punchlines - and this is one very funny show!

Fantastic

Attended a Knights of Columbus Ladies Night and was amazed by the entertainment provided by Nick Arnold as Jerry Lewis. A very Nostalgic show, brought back many memories. Tears from all the laughter and a standing ovation to boot!

The Laughter Never Stops...

We have hired this young man for a number (10 or more) of our dinner theatre shows over the last 6 years, the most recent time being this past December. He is wonderfully hysterical - or, perhaps, hysterically wonderful. The audience loved him. He stole the show but the rest of us didn't mind one bit because he is a delight to work with.

His Jerry Lewis is spot on. The mannerisms are Jerry's, the facial expressions are Jerry's, the rubber mouth is Jerry's and that voice is very definitely Jerry's! In comedy, timing is everything and his is perfect. It is impossible not to laugh - loudly and often.

About

Toronto based, Nicholas Arnold is an accomplished entertainer and successful filmmaker. A graduate of Vancouver Film School, Nicholas produced and directed his first award-winning documentary at the age of 14. He followed that with his feature directorial debut, "The Vicious Circle", premiering it by the time he was 17.

In 2014, Nicholas completed his second and most successful feature filmmaking venture, "William's Lullaby." The film went on to win favourable reviews and numerous awards, internationally, including 'Best Film'.

In 2012, Nicholas took his one-man show, "A Tribute to Jerry Lewis" and toured it around Ontario to various retirement homes and communities. He eventually landed a place on the professional theater circuit and premiered the show at the 700-seat Orillia Opera House.

Nicholas, alongside Ontario crooner Derek Marshall, is part of the original cast of "Dean and Jerry: What Might Have Been", currently on tour.

An avid supporter of charities and causes, Nicholas produced and directed the annual live fundraising variety show, "Shave for a Cure", raising over $30,000 for cancer research in a four-year span. In 2005, as a result of his volunteer and community work, he received the Mayor's Youth Award for Volunteerism and in 2008, became one of twenty across Canada to receive the TD Canada Trust Scholarship for Community Leadership (recognized by the Governer General). His volunteerism had him delivering talks as a teenager to various Rotary Clubs in the province.

Nicholas has since taken his creative passions and love for philanthropy and community involvement and combined them as part of a successful career as a speaker and entertainer. As a writer as well as performer, Nicholas has demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with audiences and inspire/motivate them in an entertaining and engaging way. His writings have been published on (link hidden) and various news outlets and his notariety as a performer has had him accept opportunities across Canada and the U.S.

From conferences to fundraisers to formal entertainment and public talks, Nicholas adapts his skills to your event. No stranger to dinner theater, supper clubs, concerts or cabaret-style performing, if a comedian, emcee or public speaker is what you need, you may be in luck! Nicholas has performed at The Orillia Opera House, The Elks Opera House, The Grand Theatre (Kingston), Hacienda Del Sol Resort in Tucson, Arizona, The Georgian Bay Hotel and Conference Centre, Hart House Great Hall and many more venues, bringing his nostalgic style, charm and humour to audiences from all over.

Nicholas is currently the host of a new, documentary-style mini-series podcast, entitled "Paying Tribute" in which he has had the honour of interviewing notable subjects in the nostalgia performing industry.

Testimonials

If you're a fan of old school comedy, you need to check out Nicholas Arnold's take on Jerry Lewis. Nick is a Kingston native now living in Toronto. I've had the pleasure of getting to know him after he wound up in one of my hypnosis shows. Since that time, he's developed a performance that is nothing short of superb.

– Buzz Collins

You truly do an amazing job performing classic routines from Jerry Lewis. You can really hear the audience laughing.

– Rob Tosh

To begin, Arnold is a filmmaker. He produced and directed his first film at the age of 15, went to the Vancouver Film School and made a bunch more films, mostly shorts, along the way. He’s active enough to have a page on the Internet Movie Database, the bible of all things film (which includes his teenage creation as a listing). Checking his website, it’s pretty clear he bears a striking resemblance to Lewis. One detail, videotaping a rehearsal, might just be the advantage Arnold has over other kinds of tribute acts that rely on looks or sound to get by.
