From his past roles as music director, pianist and arranger for Ricky Martin, Vina del Mar music festival, and for numerous Mexican television productions (such as the Eres Awards) Haneine's reputation as a brilliant artist and talented arranger are well deserved. Today his repertoire has evolved and matured into the realm of free, standard and Latin jazz.
He has a unique personal style, which blends innovative technique with uninhibited, yet intelligent improvisation.
Immediately recognized for his ability and presence, Enrique has been showered with awards, from winning the Jane Jarvis Jazz Piano Competition and being named Eubie Blake Scholar at Berklee three years in a row, to being chosen to play in the Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition in Paris, France.
With his definitive move to New York City in 2000, Enrique has grown as both a soloist, band leader, and member of numerous trios/quartets, playing in venues such as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (DC), Jazz at Lincoln Center (NYC), Birdland (NYC), Sweet Rhythm (NYC), Nuyorican Poets Cafe (NYC), Bowery Poetry Club (NYC), Blues Alley (DC), Cornelia Street Cafe (NYC), Knitting Factory (NYC), Detour (NYC), and in such institutions as NYU, Pratt Institute, Rockefeller University.

Aside from giving private lessons and master classes, Enrique Haneine is a listed faculty member at the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts in Manhattan and plays for the Alvin Ailey Dance Company's Arts in Education program.
