Carlene Mitchell is an Award-Winning Tribute Artist, as well as a Jazz/R&B Vocalist. She has been labeled a class act and is highly recognized by industry professionals and the media for her production and performance in "Dreamgirls Tribute",which pays tribute to "Dreamgirls". Among her tribute shows are "M-Town Connection:The Motown Review" consisting of a cast of 5 men/3 women performing hits from the The Temptations,The Four Tops,The Supremes,Earth,Wind,& Fire,The Jackson 5,Gladys Knight,and more. In her show "Divas by D.A.W.N." Carlene performs as Diana Ross,Aretha Franklin,Whitney Houston,and Natalie Cole. Other Shows:"Extremely Supreme:A Tribute to The Supremes". Also Solo & Band Acts.

For over 20 years, Carlene Mitchell has been captivating audiences of all ages and cultures. She is a multi-faceted entertainer who’s musical endeavors center in Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, and Jazz. She has performed with various Jazz bands and Swing Orchestras in renowned locations such as The Helmsley Palace and The Rainbow Room in New York City, and has also headlined at The Jazz Company at Pleasure Island, and The Westin Grand Bohemian in Orlando. She has performed Blues and Motown acts in venues such as The Motown Café and The House of Blues, and has opened for several recording artists such as Ray, Goodman, and Brown, Cuba Gooding, Sr. and The Delphonics.

Aside from headlining with her band in numerous venues throughout the country, Carlene is also highly recognized in the Tribute Artist Industry which she performs as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, and Natalie Cole. She has been seen on numerous television spots, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and The Next Best Thing on ABC Television, which she appeared as Whitney Houston. Carlene has also been featured in several books and magazines including Copy Cats 2 by Bea Fogelman, Fame US by Brian Howell, and Madison Magazine in Australia.

Carlene has been labeled “a class act entertainer”, and has received 2 of 3 awards for which she was nominated at The 2008 Reel Awards and 2008 Artist Choice Awards in Las Vegas for her production and performance in Dreamgirls Tribute. Dreamgirls Tribute also received The 2009 Reel Award for The Most Outstanding Tribute To A Group for the second year straight. Some of the other nominees include running shows in Las Vegas such as “Fab Four Live” (A Beatles Tribute show), and “Barbra & Frank: The Concert That Never Was”. The Reel Awards, held in Las Vegas for the past 18 years, acknowledges the accomplishments of professional Tribute Artists internationally, similar to The Academy Awards for celebrities.

With all of the wonderful accolades and recognition in the industry, as well as in the media, Carlene’s dream for “Dreamgirls Tribute” has been for it to be more than a means of entertainment, but to be a vehicle used by God to instill hope and encouragement to a world out there. “The touching story of Dreamgirls is relatable to all of us. We all at some point in our lives have hit rock bottom and are fighting to make our way back to the top, or have put some dream aside for whatever reason. My heart for “Dreamgirls Tribute” is to provide empowerment to men, women, and children to go after their dreams, believe in themselves, and fulfill their divine purpose by being the best they can be.”

Carlene’s dreams for this show have become a REALITY, as their performances have inspired many people throughout the country, as well as abroad. “Dreamgirls Tribute” has performed for corporate award banquets for companies such as Lockheed Martin delivering the message to Dream…Achieve…and Succeed. They have performed for major networking events that provide community outreach and recognize the need for empowerment of women and children such as The Millionaire’s Herstory Brunch, promoted by the late Lorian Williams. Whether it is a corporate seminar, a special event, or a night out of entertainment and dancing, “Dreamgirls Tribute” continues to perform in venues throughout being ambassadors who convey a universal message of hope, inspiring all they touch.
