Mariko was amazing! She played the violin for my wedding ceremony and added a hint of sophistication to my elegant garden wedding. She was easy to communicate with, always prompt with responding to questions and assisted in creating a program of songs for the event. I can't imagine my wedding ceremony without Mariko. Highly recommend her!
Juilliard is talented and she showed it throughout the performance. Highly recommended.
Mariko was professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with. She arrived promptly for a last minute gig and worked with us through some technical challenges. Highly recommended!
What to Expect
-I ask my customers to take me through what exactly it is that they want. Occasionally, they ask for my advice through my past experiences. The final product of the jobs I have been hired for were a mix of my suggestions and the customers.
-Contracts are always a must. This ensures understanding of both parties to fulfill their specific role (customer payments, musician's obligations, etc.)
A Yamaha Young Performing Artist, Mariko Shimasaki began playing the violin at five years of age. Recently, she received her Bachelor of Music at the Juilliard School and is currently pursuing her Master of Music with Mr. Lewis Kaplan at the Mannes School of Music as a full scholarship student.
Shimasaki has performed throughout the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Additional Booking Notes
There is no technical challenges in hiring me. I will bring my own equipment, which is a music stand, my violin, and myself (in cases of string quartet, the same thing applies, but for four people).

Influences & Inspiration
I was looking for ways to enjoy playing different genres on the violin (pop, jazz, etc.). Playing at weddings and events were the easiest and convenient way for me to fulfill that desire.
