Oldies -from the 1920's through 1970's and some 80's - singer - guitar and piano. Live and self recorded band. Also a member of the Beagles, an oldies quartet. We're talking real oldies folks, from the 50's, 60's and 70's (some 80's). Also do Senior homes and tin pan alley, jazz standards and some country. Good for either upfront show and audience patter, or live background music for parties, car shows, coffee house and senior homes. My "show" flexible and family friendly. I am a former public school music teacher and love to get out and sing, socialize with people.
Price Range: $200 and up.
Gig Length: 120 - 220 minutes
I am a former public school music teacher (band). Although I was a trumpet player and played in a big band, I also sing, play keys and guitar as a solo one man band act, with or with out my recorded accompaniment. I am having way too much fun! I play music from 1920's through 1970's and some 1980's. I try not to specialize in one particular genre which I feel limits one's ability to appeal to the general audience at events. A little something for everyone goes a long way. I do not follow the top forty, I am strictly an oldies fun act for all ages. I also play in band called the Beagles and we generally stick to the same philosophy doing 50's 60's 70's and 80's music and nothing heavy metal as we are singers first, a fun time band, not an "attitude band." Both myself and the band are for hire. I also play senior homes, private parties, wedding receptions. anniversary parties, outdoor "concerts" and other solo venues (small bar/restaurant/coffee shop venues).

Set duration is minimum 45 minutes and sometimes I will do an hour and take a 15 minute break. Recently I went 2 hours straight at a party then stopped.
I never stick to specific set every time. Typical might be starting out soft at first. If I find they want to singalong or dance I pick a song and throw it in:
Ain't Misbehavin' - jazz standard
I'm Beginning to See the Light-Big Band
I've Just Seen a Face - Beatles
Hello Mary Lou - Ricky Nelson
Heart if Gold - Neil Young
California Girls - Beach Boys-
Runaway - Del Shannon
Bring It on Home to Me - Sam Cooke
My Girl- Motown
That'll Be the Day - Buddy Holly
Ticket to Ride - Beatles
Takin' Care of Business -BTO
Bob Dylan song
Four Seasons Medley (at end)
I have plenty of Beatles and Beach Boys songs (way too many lol).
I have an Elvis Medley, a Twist Medley, a Monkees Medley, an Everly Brothers Medley and 2 Four Seasons Medleys and I am working on an Early Beatles Medley.
I will then have two people put the official James Brown robe on me and carry me offstage to recover...
Influences & Inspiration
The Beatles, Big Band era music, Elvis, Motown Music, Rhythm and Blues, CCR, 1920's through 1970's, some classic country, folk music and solo singer material (James Taylor, Carol King, Neil Young, Melanie, for example). Anything light and fun. Often it is hard to pin me down as a "type" of act other than "oldies" as I like variety rather than being trapped into being just one kind of mentality or music. I am classically trained as well, have a music degree.
