Professional, lovable, hard working musicians.
The best local band I've heard in the area. They killed the songs they knew and were happy to embarrass themselves with the requests they never practiced, but gave it a go on the spot for fun. ha. Good group of guys.
Response from Tie-Dyed Giants:
Many thanks, other Steve!
Can't wait til next year's party. Was a lot of fun playing for you guys. That was the most intense game of Marko Polo we ever witnessed, lol.
Have a good one, friend.
Price Range: $150 - $900
Gig Length: 120 - 360 minutes
What to Expect
Most often the band is asked to play acoustic sets with 3 - 4 members, which consists of 2 acoustic guitars, a bass guitar, and 3 vocalists, using a Cajon (box drum) for percussion in place of a drum kit. A client can expect impressive lead guitar, outside the context of a solo gig, and stunning lead vocal and harmonies.
Gear-wise, we almost always use a Bose speaker tower (which is a big sound with a small profile) and a professional grade mixing unit (a "stage-box", which is also very powerful but very small profile). We have yet to invest in quality stage lights, or ancillary devices such a fog-machine and the-like, but will be in the near future, or the even nearer future if the gig requires it of us.
In summary, an audience will experience a brilliant performance from a small band, with a big sound if called for.
The collective began as a duo in 2013 with Corey Kapanka and Stephen Wozniak playing together at a local restaurant and cafe in Holly, MI, earning just $25 each a night, with a cheap sound system and mid-grade instruments, trying to start however they could, at any place that gave them a shot. Gaining interest from other music instructors who Stephen and Corey worked with at a lesson studio, the collective grew by a member every several months, up to seven members at it's largest, rehearsing together every week, upgrading to high-end professional gear, adding many more venues to their circuit, and decided on a name, Tie-Dyed Giants.
Over the next few years, Tie-Dyed Giants built its reputation in Holly, Fenton, and surrounding areas as a dependable, lively, engaging group, with each member independently recognized for their talent and personality. As 2017 rolled around a few members gradually bowed out to pursue other avenues of life, leaving the current four core members they have today (Corey Kapanka, Stephen Wozniak, Russ Sauter, Eric Long), with a handful of highly talented satellite musicians called upon for larger gigs.
Currently Tie-Dyed Giants performs as a 2 to 4 piece band, depending on a client's needs, while the individual members can often be found performing solo throughout the region.
