Yes, that's right. The Old Paints are the band with the girl who plays the log.
The girl is Breely Flower (drums/vocal/guitar/percussion) and, after meeting up with Andy Harris (guitar/vocal) at his open mic, the two started The Old Paints. Since late 2013, the Paints have played hundreds of shows in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Michael Battito (guitar/vocals) and Jacquie Cotillard (bass/vocals) round out the lineup. The group is spreading out across the States, with dates booked as far as North Carolina this spring.
From traditional venues to festivals, breweries, bars, restaurants, farmers markets, house concerts, and weddings, the Paints have played stripped down acoustic shows for upwards of four hours or plugged in and rocking hard for twenty minutes. The Paints are happy to play anywhere and mix it up based on the venue and audience.
Starting with 2013's 'First Ten Songs' and 2015's follow-up 'This Machine', the Paints have written eighteen songs and pair those, time permitting, with cover tunes from Guided By Voices, Ramones, Rocky Horror, and David Bowie. Their third album, FunnySexyCool, will be released in late 2016.
Highlight festivals include Sidewalk Film Fest (2015), McCalla Walla (2015), Creek Bend Festival (2015) Druid City Arts Fest (2014), Magic City Arts Connection (2014), Magic City Brewfest (2013). The Paints have shared the stage with Cracker, The Tontons, Jonny Fritz, Wild Moccasins, and John & Jacob.
