Overview
The Mixaphors are a country rock/american band playing contemporary country, traditional country and Americana music for all ages. We also play corporate gigs, weddings, parties and more! The band features Steve Sanders from WGN on lead vocals, bass and guitar. Charles Seymour on Keys, accordion, and vocals. Maurice Gauthier on Guitar and Vocals, Ray McKenzie, Guitar, bass and vocals, Dave Harmon on Drums and Abbey Byman on lead vocals.
Mixaphors have played at Evanston Space, House of Blues Chicago, Hey Nonny, Wilmette Theater, Winnetka Community House and many corporate events, private parties, weddings, and more!

Ray and the entire band are extremely talented, accommodating, personable, and just all around excellent. They played the music we requested and sounded fantastic. I could not possibly recommend them more, perfect band for our private event!

September 19, 2025We celebrated 150 Years!
Ray and Charlie, and their joyful band, The MIXAPHORS, entertained our church community during a major anniversary party with rock n roll for 2 hours, giving us the opportunity to dance and enjoy the band and their individual musical talents. The band was organized and professional, and a pleasure to engage, before, during and after the event. Never a wrong note. The MIXAPHORS and their leaders were swell!

What to expect
We play 3 to 5 sets of great dance music, ballads, quiet and mellow, or soulful renditions of your favorite music. We provide full sound and lighting, professional crews and excellent performances. We pay close attention to the crowd and call out songs on the fly as needed if the people want to keep dancing, or if it is time to slow things down. We do sing alongs, play requests and overall absolutely love performing!
About
Mixaphors is similar to the Band in many ways. Great lead vocals and harmonies, tight rhythm section and fantastic covers and originals. We also have a horn and string sections that perform at large functions. We have been critically acclaimed by fans, writers and the people who come to see us. We play over 500 songs and can customize shows for you as needed. We are especially great at classic rock, Beatles, Country Rock, and Tributes. We can provide a list of references as well as our song list. We are always happy to talk with you about your event to make sure we can give you 100% of what you are looking for to make your event the best it can be!
Additional booking notes
We have full sound and lighting equipment that can fit on an 18 x 12 foot stage, but can accommodate to fit your space.
We have a smaller band that is 5 piece, lead singer, guitar, bass, keys and drums up to an 11 piece band with horns, violin, dancers and singers.
We are also happy to work with your sound and lighting team as needed.
We also provide special effects, backdrops, video and more.
