If you desire beautiful Celtic music, this experienced and talented duo won’t disappoint! Jim and Beth are professionals at what they do, while winning your heart with their genuinely warm and friendly personalities. They were such a pleasure to work with and created the perfect atmosphere for our mountaintop wedding. Great communication all the way, as well as prompt and dependable. Thank you for playing seamlessly even when the rain visited us during the ceremony! Jim and Beth were truly the “icing on the cake” for our special day. We Love The Magills! Thank you for everything!
Response from The Magills:
Holy Smokes, what an incredible review! We are humbled and flabbergasted at your generous praise.
We were honored to provide the music for your beautiful Lexi, James, family and friends. In addition, it was such an enjoyable and delightful experience for us!
Your invitation to join your beautiful family at the rehearsal dinner was an evening I won't forget. Observing the strong family relationships where love and faith is so strong and deep brought me to tears more than once. I am so grateful for having met you and your amazing family, and for being a part of that precious day on May 3, 2019!
Blessings to you and yours, Kim... and again, my deep gratitude for all the gifts you gave ME!
I really enjoyed working with the Magills. They were fun, friendly, professional and most of all very, very talented. I'm the Activity Coordinator at a retirement community and my residents haven't stopped bragging on how wonderful they were and asking when we could get them back. I would not hesitate to hire them again. Marvelous!!!
Response from The Magills:
Wow, what a lovely review, Jennifer! We enjoyed every minute of our time with you and the residents. What a glorious, wonderful and enthusiastic bunch of listeners, clappers, singers AND dancers! You being the best dancer in the room! Thank you so much for having us, and I look forward to being with you all again down the road!!!!

SECURING THE DATE
A $100 deposit with a signed contract is all that is necessary. We’ll get two copies of the contract in the mail to you within a week of our agreement. One is yours to keep and the other is to be returned with the deposit.
PAYING THE BALANCE
The balance, after the deposit, can be paid two weeks before your wedding date. Checks can be made out to Jim Magill. You are welcome to pay the balance in full, if you desire, when you return the contract.
There are no additional travel fees for events within 50 miles of Asheville. In the mountains, a distance of 50 - 100 miles to the event, can mean a driving time of 2 - 3 hours each way, depending on where the event will take place, and time of year. An additional charge of $100 - $300 per musician, depending on the location, for time and travel expenses, is added to the ceremony and/or reception fees when necessary.
A HEADS UP ABOUT LOVELY OUTDOOR WEDDINGS
We play many of them, and as long as our instruments have protection from direct sun or rain, we’re pretty flexible. For inclement weather such as direct sun, we need to be under a tree, gazebo or small canopy tent when possible – it’s risky to the instruments & our instruments won’t like it one bit – they’ll go out of tune (not pleasing, believe us!) or suffer damage and not sing to us for awhile (not fun!). And for the rainy wedding days, we definitely need a back up plan with either relocation indoors or access to a small canopy tent/covering.
Schedule permitting, we are available for a rehearsal, within Buncombe County, for a fee of $50. Generally, we have found logistical discussions over the phone to suffice, and unless we are being integrated into the ceremony itself in a manner that might require rehearsal with the wedding party, our presence at rehearsals is usually optional.
For acoustic music (no sound system needed), we arrive one hour prior to the ceremony.
For setting up the sound system, we arrive 1.5 – 2 hours prior to the ceremony.
This gives us ample time to set up the sound system, if needed, tune our instruments, discuss with the minister the last words that will be our cue for the recessional music, and make contact with whomever will be cueing us that the bridal party is ready to go.
* Note that the sound system can only be set up in one location, so if the ceremony and reception are in different locations, clients need to carefully consider what location would require amplification. Our experience is that sound systems are not needed for the ceremony.
As difficult as it is, situations that are unforeseen arise, and we are sorry they do. However, because we may have turned down other opportunities to play, our policy is that the deposit cannot be refunded. For cancellations on the day of the event, full payment is expected.
These are available on request.
We take what we do very seriously. There’s no other day like the one you are about to have, and it is our intention, our honor and our commitment to provide you the best music we can on your sacred day.
